Connection and Server Issues on Emule

Hello,

I have read many topics on the problems concerning Emule, but unfortunately, all the answers have been useless to me.

My first problem occurs before opening Emule. When I click on the mule, 8 messages appear one after the other:

- Failed to create Finished Files in the directory C:\ProgramFiles\eMule\Incoming. Access denied

- Failed to create Finished Files in the directory C:\ProgramFiles\eMule\Incoming. The specified file is not found.

- Failed to create Temporary Files in the directory C:\ProgramFiles\eMule\Temp. Access denied

- Failed to create Temporary Files in the directory C:\ProgramFiles\eMule\Temp. The specified file is not found

- Unknown error reading emfriends.met: %s - C:\ProgramFiles\Emule\Config\emfriends.met contains an invalid path

- Failed to load known.met file. C:\ProgramFiles\Emule\config\known.met contains an invalid path

- Failed to load the credits file, new file created. C:\ProgramFiles\eMule\config\clients.met contains an invalid path

- Unable to initialize encryption keys. Secure identification disabled.

I click OK for each message and then Emule finally opens. But I have no server in the list and I cannot connect.
When I try to update the servers, an error message appears as soon as I click on "update": "Error opening the file to download, Error: The specified access path cannot be found".
At the bottom of the Emule window, it says "Failed to receive the server list from http://www1.emule-inside.net/?tm=1&kw=Cloud+Processing&KW1=Emule%20Dedicated%20Servers&KW2=Proxy%20Servers&KW3=Cloud%20Security&searchbox=0&domainname=0&backfill=0 "

I have the latest version of Emule v0.49c and I am using Vista. Thank you for taking an interest in my problem, I do not know what to do to solve it.
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

You have problems because you probably have a "user" account. Not being an administrator of the PC
you shouldn't have the right to modify the Windows directory.

You need to be given admin rights (but that's a lot)
or install Emule on another volume for which you won't have any issues,
(but it can also be C:\EMULE\).

I have no idea if I am a user or an administrator, as I'm not really knowledgeable about the subject ^^
The computer is mine, but how do you get administrator rights? Or how do you install Emule on another volume? (What is a volume anyway ^^?)

Thank you for your response :)

My poor Choupinette

I'm sorry, I help out with issues when I can, but what you need now is some guidance
. Buy yourself a few books...
A PC isn't magic and just clicking isn't enough, no matter what
operating system you're using.
Good luck and kisses

good evening Choupinette03
first of all, where did you get your version of eMule?
INFORMATION: eMule is free, open-source, and legal software. Some dishonest websites may offer you to pay to obtain this software. These practices, in addition to being scams, can lead you to have a buggy mule and/or limited performance. If you are in this situation, you should delete it and download the correct installer for free here: http://download.emule-french.org/
try reinstalling the real version first...
then here are some links that may be useful to you, don't hesitate to check the forum to configure your ports according to your router!
Official French-speaking eMule salon | Warez/piracy/ads/SMS/Floods/AwayMsg prohibited | Salon rules: http://regles.emule-french.org/ | Documentation: http://faq.emule-french.org | Forum: http://forum.emule-french.org | Configuration: http://config.emule-french.org | Latest version 0.49c
keep me posted, please!
good luck...

Choupinette03, I think your mule has been poorly installed, uninstall it and download it again from the link:
http://download.emule-french.org
install it and let me know...

open eMule by right-clicking > then, run as administrator...
then update your servers like this...

To update the servers:
1) In the preferences tab, go to server... change value #1 to 5...
Then check boxes 1, 4, and 5...
Click on "edit", the notepad will open... enter this inside: http://serveurs.emule-french.org...
Click at the top on file, save, and then close... (don't forget to save!!!)
Now go to the server tab at the top of the screen, select any server from the list, right-click, and select delete all servers... turn off eMule and then restart it...
The server update occurs automatically on startup!
You should only have 30!

The error messages are no longer displayed, but I received this message upon restarting Emule:

"No server is listed in 'adresses.dat'. Place a list of servers with their addresses there to ensure automatic updates."

connect eMule...in the KAD tab, click on "recheck the firewall 2 or 3 times...
in the servers tab, click twice on any of the servers...(normally there are 30!)
wait a few minutes 2 or 3 to see if all the servers are recognized.
and check on the small planet at the bottom of the screen what color the arrows are: yellow=low ID
green=high ID

The problem is that Emule doesn't want to connect. In the Servers tab, there is nothing, and in the Kad tab, without being connected, when I click on Check Firewall, it says "discovering a node" and then nothing happens :/

I did as you said, but when I click on "edit," Notepad opens along with this message: "Unable to find the file C:\ProgramFiles\Emule\Config\addresses.dat. Do you want to create a new file?"

Did you create a new folder: addresses.dat? (I think you have to rename it yourself, I'm not sure...)
Then resume the update process mentioned above?

Choupinette03

Ah no, I didn't recreate the file -__- I don't even know where to recreate it ( yeah, I'm really bad at computers ^^ )

Hi
I have exactly the same problem as you... :-(
I wonder if it doesn't come from a file that we might have deleted?
Like download or something
If you resolved your issue, please let me know how you did it, thanks
See you!
