Hello,
I have a question.
My 14-year-old sister chats on Skyrock and I just read something online that worries me a bit.
Apparently, it is possible to record other people's webcams without them knowing.
She only shows her face but I still wouldn't want to come across a site where she appears without having given her consent.
So, I would like to know if this is really possible? Or is it just lies (which would reassure me)?
Thank you for your response.
P.S.: Young girls, please be careful on the internet, you never know who you are communicating with.

My opinion on the chat on Skyrock was well-founded then.
However, as soon as I saw that she had turned on the cam (the cam was only on for about a minute or two at most), I had her turn it off immediately. So, given the short time it was on, I think, or rather I hope for her sake, that the other person didn't have time to activate the software.
In the end, it taught her a lesson.

You are right to worry about your sister; it’s great and protective of you. I’m divorced, alone with a 17-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. She talks a lot online with people she thinks are honest, but there are many wolves in this internet sheepfold. Unfortunately, my job doesn’t allow me to manage two teenagers, but whenever I see a gap with my experience, I stop it or tell her brother to stop it; he’s good with computers and I’ve already allowed him to delete her Facebook! She complains, but we are protecting her. Don’t hesitate to repeat to her a hundred times if necessary the dangers of the internet, and don’t hold it against her; they are too naive at that age. I hope I’ve helped you; she will appreciate it later. A MOM.
