Question

Hello,
I use VLC and I update it when new versions are available.
For some time now, the sound is choppy when I play a video, whether it's live TV or a file from my hard drive. I tried reinstalling a previous version of VLC, but it didn't work.
Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you

For your crackling issue, I went to the VLC forum (in English :s). I tried to translate and it apparently says this:
You need to go to Preferences (switch to advanced options), then audio, then output modules and here choose waveout win32 audio output. Save, exit the program and restart it. Finally, pray to God ><

A user with the same issue followed the procedure below to solve their problem:  Tools Preferences [show all settings] playback and codecs Access module File And then check the cache size.

Otherwise, you can completely uninstall VLC (through add/remove programs, then delete all files and folders of VLC Media Player in Program Files, and finally clean the registry with Ccleaner, for example).

Good evening, I followed the advice, cleared everything, cleaned the registry, reinstalled, but the same problem persists. In the end, I installed VLC on another drive that had more free space. Still the same playback issue. So I checked in the settings the box:
playback and codecs/caching: default level = lowest latency. Things are better there if I don’t do anything else during the video playback.
On the other hand, it's still terribly choppy for the TV :(

The problem doesn't come from a setting in VLC Media Player, but it may be conflicting with another player (Windows Media Player or another) or with a codec pack.You can also update your audio driver!

I confirm, you just need to fully activate hardware acceleration in the advanced settings of the audio card.  I had the same stuttering sound issue on VLC and DivX player.

Hello,
I also had this problem on my Asus eeePC netbook: I just realized that it disappears when I plug in the charger!
Probably because it switches to power-saving mode (so less speed) when I'm on battery... I almost want to reinstall the latest version 115... to see if it works again....

I solved it by: Tools :: Preferences :: Settings (check "All") :: Input/Codecs :: Access Modules :: Digital TV and Radio.
