Age Of Mythology [Multiplayer Mode]

Hi, it's very simple, listen carefully!

You go to "multiplayer" ..... "lan/direct ip" .... you enter your username .... you click on "host" .... then you set, for example, 3 players ... your friend joins you ... once both of you are in the game before starting the match... you tell him to set the same number as you!!!

Example:
you are the host, so your number is: 1
the computer's is: 2
and your friend's is: 3

in that case, you are each on your own ... but if your friend clicks on his number and replaces it with: 1 (like yours), then it's just the two of you together against the computer!

The same process applies to teaming up with the computer or them against you ... I hope my answer helped you!

I have a similar problem and I can't find an answer anywhere.

My girlfriend and I want to play Age of Mythology: The Titans together. We've connected our two computers (mine with Windows Seven and hers with XP) via a network cable, both computers respond to pings and have the following IPs:
Computer 1 (with Seven):
IP: 192.168.1.20
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1

Computer 2 (with XP):
IP: 192.168.1.19
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1

The firewalls are disabled, and the antivirus programs are off as well. The game launches normally, we choose the multiplayer LAN/direct IP mode. The host game shows up fine, but then it’s impossible to connect to it. The countdown of 117 seconds appears and nothing happens after that, except that we return to the game selection interface at 0 seconds.

I would like to know if there are any solutions to solve this problem, and if there is a way to fix this connection issue.

Note: Both games have the same CD key; they were installed with the same CD. The latest update has been applied on both PCs but it hasn’t changed anything. After about an hour of modifying network settings, I managed a few times to connect the two computers and allow a game together. But now, no matter how many times I redo the same modifications as before, I can't enable the network game (which is quite frustrating).

for those who struggled, I found the answer, and contrary to what has been said, it is not necessary to have different keys to play in LAN, however, you need patch 1.1

I never figured out how to play against bots or to play against computers in cooperative multiplayer mode in Age of Mythology.

Hello, I’m replying to yseilis. You can't play in multiplayer mode with 2 PCs since you only have one CD key; the only option is to play in LAN mode where you can play together against the computer. I had the same issue. Best regards.

nono-du-76 it may be a bit late to reopen this forum but I have a problem when I do what you said when the second player joins the first I get a message that displays. (your game version does not match the host version. please make sure you are both using the same game and patch version). thank you for your help.

Anyway, Age of Mythology is very complicated to play online: there are a lot of issues
there are major CD key problems
so I've given up on this game because it has no interest anymore!!!
