Hello,
a key on my laptop has popped off and I retrieved 2 white pieces behind the key. I know the correct position, but I don't know how to put it back.
Please reply quickly.

Hello, to put the little white pieces back, you have to clip them in. The best thing is for you to take another key apart and have a look. I could help you put it back, but the problem is you're not next to me, sorry.
But be careful because the little pieces have a specific orientation!!!!!

Hello,
what I propose is that I buy a keyboard, and then I sell you the keys individually for a song, so everyone can just get their missing key back.

Manolo, it's the space bar for me. Did you acquire the complete keyboard because I have clients for you?

Hi, I'm counting on you to set it aside. Thanks.

Hello,

my "3" key is broken (CDs fell on it) it's a Toshiba Satellite and if you have spare black keys with the white bits underneath, I would take them. If not, do you know where I can buy one??

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

well, listen, I'm also interested in the Ctrl key clip because I can't even replace it with another one; it's a weird size on a Toshiba Satellite.

Hello, I am missing not the keys or the little white pieces, but the rubber pads because my dogs removed them and ate them. But the most annoying thing is that I am missing 14 rubber pads. Please help me; my laptop is not even 5 months old and it’s a Sony Vaio. Please, help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing serious in all of this... I suggest you take a trip to a computer assembler, or better yet, to a computer scrapyard. A keyboard takes less than 2 minutes to dismantle (a small tool like a cutter blade to lever it off, then to unhook the ribbon cable from its slot...), and many are compatible within the same brand... Remember to check the size of the ribbon cable and its position (centered, etc.), even if the keyboards look identical, otherwise it won't work... In short, many assemblers salvage old computers for parts, like if the screen is broken or the motherboard has burned out... So the rest of the parts are for sale, or even the whole chassis (from €40 on eBay)... It's always better than going through customer service...

Hello everyone
I'm a beginner in computer science and my beloved dog decided to jump on the couch with such force that he popped a key off my Packard Bell Easynote laptop, but the big issue is that I don't know how to put it back on. ALL THE PIECES ARE DISLODGED....
Could someone kindly help me with some photos if possible to help me resolve my problem
With my thanks in advance, I look forward to hearing from you

Good evening,
I also had the same problem with the arrow keys on my MEDION laptop.
In reading the forums, I saw different ideas:
- Buy a USB PC keyboard, for example, and connect it to the laptop to use it. Two disadvantages; the laptop keyboard is no longer useful and it’s not very practical.
- Retrieve the little spring from another unused key on the keyboard, like "²", and swap it with the broken key. It's not bad because in an emergency it allows you to reuse an important key for typing or games!
- I discovered another trick that worked on my MEDION laptop. I don't know if it's intentional, but on my keyboard, there are two empty key slots (that is, black keys without letters or numbers). When I pressed them, I felt there were spring cushions underneath. I then retrieved the cushions to install them on the arrow keys that weren't working, and it works very well! However, on another laptop, Packard Bell, the empty keys located at the arrow key area do not have spring cushions.
I hope my trick helps someone with the same problem I had!
Good luck to the tinkers!

Hello,

To be honest Pschmitter, I didn’t understand much, lol sorry and it’s mega complicated!!!

The part I’m missing, I’ve always had it, by the way, it’s the little clip that’s broken, but it’s such a hassle to find just one piece. I’ve called quite a few computer repair shops, but they don’t do that, and buying a whole keyboard is completely stupid!!! Does anyone still have an idea, thanks?

Good evening Nicotine97,
I'm sorry for not being clear enough in my explanations. I feel like we have a different keyboard issue. My problem was with the small rubber spring that pushes the key back up, and not the key's clip system. But the idea was to take the mechanism from another key that we don't use much, like the "²", and swap the mechanisms. That is to say, place the mechanism under the "D" key in place of the "²" key and vice versa. It's a bit tricky because you have to be careful not to break them... Good luck.

Hi,

Actually, I don't have the same problem as you; I just have a damaged key on my keyboard. The click for it has come off because it no longer stays in place, so I'm missing a key. I found Toshiba keyboards, but I only want the key. Thank you.
