Inforad V4E Detection

Question

Hello,
I just acquired an Inforad V4E. After successfully downloading software version 3.4 from Inforad, I was getting ready to update the module via the internet, and to my surprise, the device could not be detected when connected to the PC via its USB port; the PC can't find it and scans the ports without ever stopping on the device's port. I've reinstalled it on two other PCs, and I'm facing the same problem!!!
If anyone has encountered the same issue, I would appreciate any information.

At my place it's the same! It doesn't detect the product!!.. yet at a friend's it works right away, what's going on?.. I don't understand anything anymore!

It's the same at my place for three days! ... At my brother-in-law's, and on his... PC it works! Why not at my place!!

Hi, I had the same problem too, and actually it’s the connector on the Inforad that has a bad connection; you need to plug it in pretty firmly into the device.

You need to download version 3.6 and try another USB port.

call gpsinforad in aigues mortes. It's the customer service. They will assist you. As for me, I haven't had this problem. Be careful not to manipulate your Inforad when it is connected to the PC. It might be your cable that has issues.

hi, I also had the same problem and actually it's the plug on the inforad that connects poorly, you need to push it in the device quite firmly

Hello, if you have Windows Vista, you need to call customer service who will send you a small update software and it will work.

On Windows 7, connect the box.
It will search for a driver that it won't find and will notify you.
Go to Control Panel then Devices and Printers.
Right-click on the "USB to Serial" device icon that is not recognized, then click on "Properties".
In the "Driver" tab, click on "Properties" again and choose "Reinstall Driver". Specify the path to the driver, which is located in the directory: C: > Programs > Inforad.
Check the box to search in subfolders.
Windows 7 will find the driver and install it.

You can then relaunch the software as indicated in the Inforad V4e manual. It will work.

v4e. Comment puis-je faire pour faire une mise à jour, car depuis lors, j'ai changé de PC et j'ai Windows 7

Same here, I tried everything, it's completely incompatible with Windows 7 Ultimate. Their USB driver is a patch that doesn't even work.

There you go, instead of recognizing it, they just lead you on.

It's just a piece of junk!
