Convert Hex to ASCII Solved

Question

Hello,  I am looking for a small executable that converts hexadecimal to ASCII, meaning to retrieve text from a sequence of hexadecimal numbers.  Thank you very much,  Ludo

In my opinion, it will be much faster to create your little executable in C++ than to search for it online... all you need to do is convert the hexadecimal numbers two by two to reconstruct the bytes of your ASCII string and save everything in a .txt file.

I haven't tested it, in particular the %x which expects an unsigned hexadecimal integer (which is what you're looking for).
I'm actually using scanf rather than cin, precisely because of the %x specifying hexadecimal. I don't know if there's an equivalent in iostream.

Your converter isn't very efficient; when the sequence is too long, it returns nonsense.

To read from a hexadecimal file in ASCII (that is, readable "1A F3 ..." by a human), you just need to either make an indirection when calling the program, or use fscanf() instead of scanf().

Instead of hexadecimal, it's decimal since we only find values from 0 to 9

If we break it into blocks of 2, we get:
