Bluetooth connection issue with my Mac Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,
I have a problem with Bluetooth on my Mac.
I can send files from my computer to my phone without any issues,
but sending files from my phone to my computer doesn't work!
It says: connection failed!

P.S: I have a MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz 200 GB. Thanks!!

To answer exactly the question "send a file from a mobile phone to a Mac," here is the correct answer:
This takes place in "System Preferences / Sharing." You need to check the box named "Bluetooth Sharing." This allows you to configure the items on the right side of the window, including the action taken when receiving items from another Bluetooth device.

Hello everyone! After spending nearly 4 hours searching for a solution to my problem, I finally found one, and I thought, if it can help someone, I might as well share my findings here! So I couldn't establish a connection between my Samsung Player Style and my Mac in order to browse the files on my phone (I could, however, send and receive in both directions) and above all, I was looking for a way to sync my contacts between the mobile and the Mac... I tried SyncMate but it didn't impress me! Also, through my tinkering, I managed to copy all my contacts to the Address Book on my Mac!
As I was saying, browsing the mobile files was impossible, however, I was able to establish a connection to browse the "Public" folder on the Mac: menu>applications>file explorer>bluetooth ftp>your Mac's name
After that, accept the connection on the Mac. Then, click on the bluetooth icon (at the top of the bar)> player addict (or the name you gave to your mobile if it's different)> browse the content of a device. And miracle, it works! First, you will need to pair the two devices. And if you want to browse the contents of a specific folder on the mobile (for example the memory card), you need to have made the necessary settings on the phone:
menu>settings>connections>bluetooth>ftp (scroll down) and choose the folder.

There you go, I hope this can help the lucky owners of a Samsung Player Style, or inspire other enthusiasts of computer/telephony manipulation.

I have looked into this for a long time and tried all the advice given, but nothing works. My problem is that I want to send music from my iMac to my Sony Ericsson phone, but when I activate Bluetooth on the phone and on the Mac and I try to send a file from my iMac, nothing happens, as if I hadn’t clicked at all, yet I do click >< so I really don't know what to do.

I also had the same problem. I could send with my Mac via Bluetooth, but my Mac wouldn't receive anything, and another Mac or my mobile phone couldn't send files.
But by pairing my two devices, I was indeed able to explore the contents of my phone (so this way you can recover files), but I also went into the system preferences of Internet and Network > Sharing and then checked Bluetooth sharing (at the very bottom) and my problem was solved!!

Hello, I have a Samsung U600 and a MacBook. I couldn't send photos from my phone to my computer via Bluetooth. After reading your various messages and performing the different actions, I finally found out!!
First, you need to activate Bluetooth on both devices.
On the Mac, "set up a Bluetooth device" - "mobile phone". The pairing takes place.
Then, on the phone, select a photo to send. Option, activate "Bluetooth visibility".
On the Mac, "browse the device's content". A window appears with several files that are normally present on the phone. Open the file where the photos are (before these files were empty, after activating Bluetooth visibility for the photos, they are present). Then click receive.
And that's it. I hope it's clear enough.

I've done everything that has been said and still nothing... I run a scan on my device, it doesn't change anything... It says: an error occurred while connecting to the device :'(...

My Mac (or my iTouch 3.0) simply can't connect....
