Hello,

I have an Acer Aspire SW3-013 on which I can no longer access the 500GB HDD.

However, the keyboard and touchpad are working correctly.

The message is:

Location not available

E:\ is not available. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or that the disk is inserted, and then try again.

At first, unplugging the screen could work, but it hasn't worked for months.

The connection pins between the screen and the keyboard are not bent or damaged.

Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you in advance.

Hello Madmat

Your hard drive is partitioned into three parts = C: - D: and E:

- possibly take a screenshot of the disk management

The Disk 1 is not initialized

- right-click on Disk 1 = convert to dynamic disk

- right-click on its surface = formatting

Okay, but I might lose the data that is already saved on it...

Try to recover the data using PhotoRec.

Do I need to connect this hard drive to my PC to copy the data onto it before reinstalling it into my Acer Aspire SW3-013 in order to format it?
