The FILTER function is no longer recognized
Auri328 -
Good evening everyone,
I am experiencing a rather troubling setback: last night I successfully finalized a formula using the FILTER function, everything was working great. Today, I reopened it, and the FILTER function is no longer recognized at all. Instead, I see this: _xlfn._xlws.FILTER. Which means it is not supported; yet it was yesterday...
My product is up to date; I am using Office 2016. And indeed, on the online version of Excel, the formula is suggested. I only have the FILTER.XML function available now...

For your information, it is a formula that allows for a semi-predictive list (useful for versions prior to 2022 apparently). I followed this tutorial to create it, and I'm sharing it with you; I find this formula useful.

Thank you to those who can help me,

Hello,
Sorry for the delayed response, I thought I would receive an email alert.
Alright, I understand that it's only available from Office 2021. What I don't get is that I was able to use it initially, and then the next day, nothing.
Meanwhile, I was reading that from Office 2021 onwards, data lists are by default semi-predictive, which takes away any interest in this hack of functions haha.
Thank you for your responses. -
Hello,
It's normal, FILTER only exists for Office 365 and 2021, for earlier versions, there is only a FILTER.XML function. -
Hello,
Well, the FILTER() function is not available for Office 2016.

Best regards.
