Hello,

I have several m3u playlists that I would like to share. I can play them with VLC where I have all the details while keeping the flac files. However, when I share them from my Google Drive, the
recipient cannot read them. During my research, I learned that these are actually text files.
Can someone explain to me how to share my playlists?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
if the recipient of the playlist does not have access to the audio files, your mu3 file is useless.

Hello,
In short, does that mean I need to share all the relevant files?
My playlists are created using MusicBee and my recipient listens with VLC. I would like to keep the files in flac and not convert everything to mp3.

Hi,
Your M3U file is a playlist file. In plain terms, it means it's like a directory.

Let's even say it's like the table of contents of a book.
The table of contents of a book gives you information on the chapters, what pages they start and end on, their position, title, etc... but it doesn't contain the chapter itself.

Here, it's exactly the same principle. Your M3U file is just an index. It only makes sense when associated with the music it contains data about.
That's why this file by itself is very lightweight, while the music files alongside it are very heavy (especially in FLAC).
