The list of startup programs includes TwDsUiLaunch. Solved

Question

Hello,

While looking at the list of startup programs, I discovered TwDsUiLaunch.exe with a high priority.

A quick search online reveals that this program is a malware!

However,
- Avast reports nothing,
- Windows Defender reports nothing,
- malwarebyte reports nothing,
- ccleaner reports nothing,
- adwcleaner reports nothing,
- FRST mentions the program but does not report any problems.

Why is this malware clearly listed in the startup list not reported by any of these tools?

Is it really a malware?

Hello everyone. In the meantime, I found the answer: IT'S NOT MALWARE, contrary to what you may read online. It's a program used by the Brother printer I recently installed. Thanks again.

First, check in Geek Uninstaller if the software is present.
After uninstallation, the tool will scan for files and registry entries to find residual traces and then delete them.

If it finds nothing:
Right-click, "Open file location"
Right-click on the file, scan with your antivirus
If it finds nothing, zip the folder (encrypted and compressed archive, with 7-zip for example) to make a backup, then delete the folder.
A registry search including certain file names found in this folder as keywords may reveal the presence of a key referencing that file.
If that's the case:
- Backup the registry with CCleaner
- Delete the relevant key(s)

Note that CCleaner's registry cleaning option is too harsh. It can more easily create problems than solve them.

Here is the procedure to follow.

To check your computer for possible infections and get a general status of the system:

Follow the FRST tutorial by clicking on this blue link. (take the time to read carefully - everything is well explained there).

Download and run the FRST scan,
Wait for the scan to finish, a message will indicate that the analysis is complete.

Three FRST reports will be generated:

Additional.txt
