Hello, I have a VM to run an old program that serves to connect via an RS232 port to a controller.
I have a W10 host PC
a 32-bit VM
an RS232 link to a machine
The connection is well detected, but when I launch the software it gives me application error 0X00007FFA63871C3B using memory address 0X000000000000258. The memory state cannot be written.
I can't figure out where this might be coming from, can you help me please?

I found the problem but ??????
With a USB serial adapter (driver installation plus configuration as USB), everything works perfectly.
However, with the serial port, it doesn’t work. In my opinion, it's my serial port settings in the VM that are incorrect, but I’m not quite sure how to fix it.
My current settings
On the host PC:
Serial port COM 1
In the VM configuration:
Serial port enabled checked
Port number COM1
IRQ 4
Port address 0X3E8
Host device port mode
Connect to pipe checked
Address path: COM1
In the VM: COM 1 is enabled.
