As explained, it is indeed a simple rule of three.

The method:

- take the score out of 12 and divide it by 12

- you obtain a number less than 1 (like 0,something)

- take this number and multiply it by 20

- the result is the score out of 20.

This is the exact equivalent of the formula stated above, more concise as it is in "mathematical language".

The method is the same for any "base" X (10, 15, 17, 20, 39, 475…), where X corresponds to the maximum score.

- take the score out of X and divide it by X

- you obtain a number less than 1 (like 0,something)

- take this number and multiply it by 20

- the result is the score out of 20.

And there you go!

1. There’s no need to answer, in January 2023, a question asked in November 2018!
   The requester doesn’t care anymore...
2. It's not very pedagogical to throw out an answer without providing the slightest explanation!
   What will the requester do when they get 6.25/14?
3. And most importantly, do not provide false answers!
   The exact result is 17.91666667 so 17.92 which is much closer to 18 than to 17!

Answers as silly as these do not raise the general level of CCM !!!!!
