InDesign Interface Color

Hello,
I have a problem with InDesign CS6. When I go to Preferences > Interface, I don't have the option to change the color of my interface. I only have "Motion Cursor Options," "Panels," and "Options." Normally, I should have "Appearance" to change the background color to lighter or darker, but I don't have that option, which is quite frustrating. Everything is too bright and strains my eyes.

Does anyone know where the problem might come from?
Is there another setting to adjust beforehand?

Thank you for your attention.
Best regards.

I don’t recall that changing the background color in InDesign is possible, since in 99% of cases we print on white paper, and if we have to print on colored paper, it's the paper that changes... (I am ignoring ink transparency)...
InDesign is a layout software, unlike Photoshop where changing the background is possible.

However, if this bothers you, you can put a background on the entire pasteboard (and page) via a template...

It is clear that I am not talking about the document I am working on...

I am indeed talking about the software interface.
According to some tutorials, you can change the color of the interface (several shades of gray). In Edit > Preferences > Interface. However, I do not have this option.

Yes, I even have two:

He explains it here too:

But I can't understand why I don't have the same thing, it's weird.
I would like to have a darker interface, it's more pleasant to work in the evening. My eyes get tired very quickly even with glasses.

In videos 1 & 2, the users are on MAC..

The functions available on MAC are sometimes different from those available on PC (and vice versa).
Moreover, in the 2nd video, it's the CC version and not the CS6... it is possible that the function was implemented in CS6... (which I refuse to rent!)

The 3rd video is for Photoshop.. and that exists on PC as well.
