Red dot on messenger

Hello,

I have a contact that I sometimes see online on Messenger with a red dot in front of the phone at the top of the window, and sometimes when they're online, there isn't one...
Basically, what are the conditions for that red dot to appear on my Messenger? Thank you

Being in an area with no signal... Or turning off the internet on your mobile...

In other cases, you are connected nonstop. So green dot.
