Hello,
We have two Macs at home. An iMac running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 and a MacBook Air running OS X El Capitan 10.11.5.
From the Finder, we can see the other computer and the option to connect.
However, by default, when we click on "connect," it prompts us as users (first name and last name in lowercase attached) with a password request that obviously does not match any of our passwords.
In short, it is impossible to connect and therefore to share our printer or transfer documents via AirDrop...
Thank you for your help.
Configuration: Mac OS X (10.11.5) / Safari 9.1.1
