Hello,
I have a simple question to ask.
What is AMD Radeon and what does it actually do?
Because suddenly I saw a window pop up on my screen offering to install it.
Thank you in advance for your responses
Have a nice day.

Note: I am using Opera / Windows 10 / Packard Bell EasyNote TE69KB series

    Hello,

AMD is a manufacturer of Graphics Cards from the AMD Radeon family (after acquiring ATI) and AMD processors.
Its main competitors are nVidia for graphics cards and Intel for processors.

AMD may suggest that you install its automatic detection tool (AMD Driver Autodetect), which is used to notify when a new driver is available for the Graphics Card or for its processor (?).
It is possible to skip it (saving space on the hard drive and fewer processes running), but then you will need to manually check for driver updates.

Indeed, your computer "Packard Bell EasyNote TE69KB series" is equipped with both an AMD processor and an AMD Radeon Graphics Card, like in this model for example: https://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00162153.html

    Best regards

        Hi Flore,

If you don't need it, yes you can uninstall it, and if necessary, you can always download it again. Just remember to check from time to time that a new driver is not available so that your computer stays up to date.
