    Hello,
    This is a document saved in the old Microsoft Word format (.doc). To exit "compatibility mode," simply save it in the new format: File => Save As => Change the document type from "Word Document 97-2003 (*.doc)" to "Word Document (*.docx)"

    Then, you will need to use the new file instead of the old one, and possibly delete the old one if the new one is fine in terms of its content
