It is stated in YouTube's terms of service that: ""# you agree not to access the Content for any reason other than personal non-commercial use, as provided and authorized by the normal features of the Service and solely for Streaming purposes. ‘Streaming’ means the simultaneous digital transmission of data by YouTube over the Internet, on a device with Internet access and controlled by the user, in such a way that this data is viewed in real-time and not to be downloaded (whether permanently or temporarily), copied, stored or redistributed by the user."

As long as you watch/listen via streaming, you are technically within the law. Just because current technologies make it almost as easy to access streaming music as if you had downloaded it, that doesn't make downloading legal.

Therefore, this topic is normally not suitable for discussion on CCM.
I'm not a hypocrite, though; I also download illegally (not on YouTube, though, the quality is too poor) but I believe that we should respect CCM's guidelines (especially since with a little research, you don't need to ask how to download).

I agree that it's not necessarily very "smart" to make musical works available for free and without restriction while banning copying, but the fact is that there are rules that have been established.
If everyone starts bending the rules to their own liking, it's chaos and it's no longer legal.

The story with YouTube and how to copy it reminds me of an old debate with the old cassette tape players and blank tapes; back then it was illegal to copy an artist who had been played countless times on several radio stations.
