Galaxy S4 Wi-Fi Activation Issue…

Question

Hello, I just got my brand new Galaxy S4 (it's been a week) and I can't activate the Wi-Fi!!! I press on Wi-Fi but it doesn't turn green like the other icons (Bluetooth, etc...)

try restarting your phone in recovery mode (press power + the home button at the same time) until the phone restarts and then release. try enabling the wifi again and let me know @theinformaticjournal

yes but it still doesn't work :s:s actually even when I press it, it goes back to 0... it doesn't stay green like the other icons. it's weird :(

I have exactly the same problem with the Wi-Fi on my S4. I did a reset... nothing works, the Wi-Fi icon won't turn green. Can anyone help me?

The only solution is to take it back to where you bought it so they can fix it. You tell them that their repair didn't work and either they fix it for you or they change it if they are not capable of doing their job.

Hello,

I found a "temporary" solution. When you "turn on" the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, it lights up in light green and tries to turn on. When you have the same problem as I do, it turns gray again. But before it turns gray, you just need to remove the battery while the phone is still on, and upon restarting, everything works as long as you don’t turn off either of the two systems...

Whether it's recovery, quickly removing the battery, or taking out the SD card, nothing works, the Wi-Fi still doesn't work. But the phones aren't new, it's impossible. I think these are phones that have been refurbished to "like new" condition, but still... not that great... I guess I just have to call Samsung, I think!!!!
My error message when I try to connect is: the device has detected that an application is attempting unauthorized operations and has stopped loading.
But the phone is new, I just received it, so that’s not normal!!!

I don't know if this will help you, but personally, I had this issue after trying to revert to a stock ROM... I went back to my previous ROM (Cyanogen) and everything works, no more Wi-Fi problems, the Galaxy S4 runs like a clock!!!

I don't know if your problem is resolved, but I also had the same issue. I just switched my Wi-Fi network on my Freebox. I changed from WEP to WPA. That's it. Now it's working perfectly.

When I wanted to update the Android on my Galaxy Ace 3, the Wi-Fi refused to turn on once the update was done. I turned off the phone, and I restarted it after removing the SIM card, and I then managed to reactivate the Wi-Fi. Then I turned it on again with the SIM card and miraculously, the Wi-Fi works again!

WIFI OK SAMSUNG S4 I had a motherboard problem which was replaced, and upon returning from the service center, I faced a major wifi connection issue... Back to the service center and they replaced the wifi card; it worked for 2 days and then the same issue, unstable wifi connection or even impossible...  AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY!!! since I installed 5 applications: -wifi fixer -wifi manager -wifi optimize -wifi reconnect -wifi static Take the time to let the applications work properly... or even restart them in case of a potential bug... I don't know which one solved the problem, but it works, and that's the main thing!

I had the same problem since last June after trying a Root that didn't work. Then suddenly in January, while going to school, my phone fell in water and boom, it came back! lol Unfortunately, it didn't last (by the way, I can't use Bluetooth either). I tried turning it off/restarting while enabling or disabling 4G and turning on airplane mode. After a few attempts, it worked. But now it doesn't work anymore. I tried recovery mode (turning it on while holding "on" + "volume up" and then clicking "home") but that doesn't work. I tried forcing it by removing the battery, same result, and the same by removing the SIM card and SD card. It's a program issue where a message that should be "False" is "True" or the other way around. I came across it once, I tried to save the modification but couldn't save anything (even though I have administrator rights). If someone has reinstalled the Samsung programs on the S4 after experiencing this, I would really like to hear from you. Personally, I found a solution to this problem as follows:
- Go to the Wi-Fi settings
- Open the context menu (the button to the left of the Home button on the S4) and click on "Advanced settings"
- Disable the "Always allow scanning" option

After disabling this option, the Wi-Fi became functional again on my S4.

I connected my phone to my computer with the USB cable to charge the battery, and everything went back to normal. Now I can activate the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. I don't know if it's a coincidence, but it works for me. By the way, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
