HP Deskjet 1280 installation on Windows 7

Hello,

I bought an HP DeskJet 1280 printer, and I want to install it on my PC with Windows 7. Let me explain the steps I've followed: I went to printer > add a printer > Add a local printer > use an existing port (LPT1) > Windows update. And that’s when I encountered an issue, the 1280 isn’t listed. What should I choose? Or is there another method? Thank you for your responses.

    Good evening unefilledu12,
You need to install the software/drivers for this printer so that it is recognized by the operating system of the machine.
    Windows 7 32 or 64 bit?
    See you later

      Hello,
There was no installation CD with this printer?
      See you!

      Hi

According to the HP website, the driver is available on Windows Update: http://h200003.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=en&taskId=115&prodSeriesId=439162&prodTypeId=18972&objectID=c01992524

It is indeed on the list of supported products...

"All" downloadable software for Windows 7 is here: http://h200003.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=en&prodNameId=439174&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=439162&swLang=17&taskId=135&swEnvOID=4058 (there's only one by the way)
