Hello, I'm new here. A friend just gave me a Java game to install on my phone. Do you know what to do? When I transfer these files to my phone, it doesn't recognize them as a game. Thanks in advance for your help!

There's a detailed answer here that talks about deploying Java Mobile applications:

Bonjour, j'ai un Samsung U600 et j'ai beaucoup de jeux que j'ai téléchargés et qui sont sur mon ordinateur, mais quand je les déplace sur ma carte mémoire de 2 Go, il m'indique "fichier non pris en charge". Pouvez-vous m'expliquer, s'il vous plaît, comment faire pour que mon portable puisse les lire ? Merci beaucoup.

If you have put it on the memory card, you need to transfer it to the phone's memory and then you can install it. If you have a site for Java games, I’m interested.

Hello, I’m new! But I have a problem:
I found a website that allows you to upload a file and then download it on mobile internet (everything is free and no registration is needed!): http://www.plogg.net/ploggwallet.php
I just have one problem: in the document (of the game I want), there are lots of files: worms.jar; worms.jad; worms1.jar; worms1.jad and wormsV525.jar.
Which one should I take? And when it comes time to download the .jar file (I only tried that one because I don't want to cause any trouble ^_^), it tells me: "unknown file type"? What should I do?
Could you help me please?
Thank you in advance.

It seems to me that for game transfers, it all depends on the mobile. Consult the docs on your phone

I remember developing a snake game that I tested on a LG KG 800, if I recall correctly, you just had to put the jad and jar files in the "other" or "other documents" folder

Then go to "documents" on your phone and then "other" and launch the .jar there.

I have a Samsung i900, and I can't find the "other" folder or "autres"; they are not in Windows. I also specify that I manage to install them, but afterwards they won't launch anymore; I don't understand why. Could someone help me, please?? It's quite annoying to have a high-end phone and not be able to run a simple Java game (otherwise, I can install other .cab files but not in Java; it's beyond understanding. Should I redownload Java, or do something else?? I have reformatted my phone several times, but nothing works, so if someone has encountered the same problem, please help me ^^!! ^^

To whom it may concern, hello.

Afterwards, it is important to know that some programs developed for mobile are also specific to mobile

For example, I take the case of my Snake game

In my development, I used APIs provided by LG, so the game could not run on mobile devices other than LG

Therefore, also check if the mobile game is not specific to a manufacturer.

This is not the case for all games, but it does exist

The .cab files are installation files (also used for installations on Windows)

If you are unable to use the Java files (you need a .jar and .jad), maybe Java is not installed on your mobile, check with the manufacturer.

Well, actually I have the Samsung Player Addict, so I am sure that Java is on it; this phone is a bundle of technologies ^^ but for some weird reason, I can only launch the Java games once, after that they are nowhere to be found on the phone, and if I manually search for Java in Windows, I can find it (Java AMS) something like that, then it tells me that there is an error during execution... So I would like to know if it is possible to reinstall Java (when it doesn't work after formatting the phone).

<translation>Well, my problem is that I can install Java games, but when I exit the application and try to relaunch it, it says error extracting the jad file. Please help me, it's driving me crazy. Everything else on my phone works, except Java which keeps bugging even after a cold restart.</translation>

If, when installing your midlet, there are no errors and yet you can only play once and that's it, that seems rather suspicious.

Then there is another hypothesis: when you install your Java application using the JAR and JAD, when the installation finishes, it often asks you, "Do you want to launch your midlet/game?"

If you say yes, it launches the game directly, but the game is simply installed elsewhere on your phone.

However, if you try to relaunch it from the installation file, this may create a conflict between the new installation and the already installed game, and thus it does not work.

If that's the case, try to check if there is a file created during the installation elsewhere on the phone to launch the application.

If that’s not it, I’m sorry, but apart from a defect with your phone (try to find other users of this phone; you never know), I can't see where it could be coming from, or otherwise it exceeds my expertise.

Thank you for your responses, but I've already checked all that, and I've already taken steps to fix this error :: ...............................

I sent it for repair this morning because I even installed a program that allowed me to browse the hidden files of Windows Mobile, and I still couldn't launch them, so I think it's the factory installation that must have messed up......

That's why I sent it for repair ^^ !! ^^

See you later and thank you for your investment in my questions ^^ !! ^^
