Hello,
how to disable the file sharing service under Windows XP Home Edition version 2002 Service Pack 3. Because following some fake emails received from Orange, they advised me to disable it for more security. Thank you, I look forward to your response.

Thank you, I just looked and I can't do it. I don't understand because Orange's security support is telling me to do it and to change my password, which I have done. As for file sharing, it doesn't work; I don't know what to do. Thank you anyway.

    control panel
    administrative tools
    computer management
    system tools
shares - on the right you will have the list of your shares - right click on the folder and stop sharing
I believe you shouldn't delete the system shares - to be confirmed

I restarted my computer but there was no change. I went to the control panel, but I do not have "Computer Management" or "System Tools" listed; however, I think it should be possible to do it.

So go directly to the folders you share - my documents etc. and delete the shares this way
example: desktop - drive D, if my documents are shared - right click, properties - Sharing tab

I went to see it and it's already done so I don't have to do it on my Windows, so I should be fine. Thank you all, have a good evening.
