A3 with A4? Solved

Hello to the whole community!

I have a big problem right now. I need to provide posters for my workgroup. These posters are supposed to be in A3 format. But I only have a printer (EPSON STYLUS C45) that seems to only print on A4 sheets...

So, simple question... How can I print in A3 from a printer in this case..?

After doing several tests, I was able to find the solution. I remind you that I have a Brother DCP115 C printer that only takes A4 or smaller formats.
To print in A3 with A4 sheets on a printer that can only take A4 sheets, you need to:

1-Start the print job.
2-When the print window opens, go to properties.
3-In the paper size tab, select A4.
4-In the page layout tab, there are modes: Normal, 2 in 1, 4 in 1, 1 page on 2x2 sheets, 1 page on 3x3 sheets. Choose the mode: 1 page on 2x2 sheets.
5-Confirm and start the print job.

Your work will be automatically divided, and each part will be printed faithfully on a page. You will ultimately have several A4 sheets that you can simply glue together to create an A3, A2, A1, or even A0. In short, with my Brother A4 printer, I print all sizes, even custom dimensions.

Knowing that an A3 is double the size of an A4. You need to create your posters in a format reduced by half in order to print them as 2 A4 and then join them into one A3.
The problem is: which software are you going to use to create them?

Hello,

The simplest solution that seems to me:

You will never be able to print directly on A3 with your printer since the shortest side of A3 is 29.7 cm and the maximum paper width accepted by your printer is 23 or 24 cm.
So you need to work in A4 and print your poster in A4.
You then take it to a photocopy center and make enlarged photocopies to A3 size.

The proportions are maintained since the 2 dimensions of A4 and A3 are in the same ratio of 1.414.
A4 = 21*29.7 and A3 = 29.7*42
and 21*1.414 = 29.7 (widths)
and 29.7*1.414 = 42 (lengths)

These are documents printed on special machines (web presses) with resistant ink and special paper. Otherwise, you can find home printers in A3.  -- *** I don't like computers, nah!!! ***

You didn’t say how many posters you need to make, whether you need to make 10, 100, 1,000 or 10,000, nor what they are for.
If it’s to make 1,000 to stick outside, you’d better see a printer to whom you can provide a diskette with the model of your poster in A4 format. They will be perfectly capable of producing them in the format you want.

File/Page Setup - Page/Scale: Shrink/Enlarge to 141% of the normal size and /Paper size A3 297 x 420 mm.

The software for A3 to A4 ... blah blah blah ... is: Microsoft Publisher, you go to file - page setup - type of layout - display - you choose the size you want according to the pages you want.

A1=2*A2=2*A3=2*A4=2*A5=2*A6.............
