Hello, since I plugged an external hard drive into my desktop to make backups, every time I open Picasa, all the photos are copied again into Picasa. I remove them but they come back. I must have made a mistake but I can't see where. If you can provide me with a solution, thank you in advance.

Good evening!
Here’s what the Picasa Help Center says about this:
Picasa does not store your photo files. The application scans your computer for compatible photo file types, then displays the photos found. Here are some of the most common reasons for duplicate photos, along with corresponding solutions:
* The same photo is saved in multiple folders: it’s up to you to define the folders that Picasa scans and displays content from. If multiple scanned folders contain the same photo, it will appear as a duplicate in Picasa. To check if there are indeed two separate copies of the same photo on your computer, locate each of the files on your disk.
Solution: depending on your preferences, choose one of the following options:
+ Using the Folder Manager: click on the Tools menu and select Folder Manager. Instruct Picasa to exclude entire folders from your library.
+ Hiding duplicate photos: you can also right-click on the different duplicate photos and remove them from view by choosing Hide. Learn more about hidden photos.
+ Deleting duplicate photos: if you are sure these are indeed duplicate photos, you also have the option to delete them from your disk.
Good luck

No matter the computer or operating system, the worst virus will always be the interface between chair and keyboard.
