Uninstall microsoft security essential

D.Butant -

Hello,
I installed "Microsoft Security Essentials" as a trial but I'm not satisfied at all (a mild understatement!)
So I decided to "remove" it, but I can't find the "uninstall" program in the registry created in the Windows program file (XP)... I haven't seen any "uninstall" type file or anything similar...
And if I want to delete the files one by one... well, that's not working either!??
Thanks in advance for your help
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 8.0

    Hello

I have the same issue, I uninstalled it but it's still running in the background and Windows Security keeps telling me that it is disabled. I can't find it in Revo Uninstaller or in Add/Remove Programs

Does anyone have any idea because I don't know if I'm protected or not

    Thanks in advance

    Dan

I unfortunately have the same kind of problem, although I have already installed and reinstalled Microsoft. It's driving me crazy. As a beginner, the message saying that I need to download continues to appear, a successful download confirmation is displayed, but I can't find it anywhere and I keep being asked to download it. Does anyone have a solution? Thank you in advance.

Microsoft has created a tool to uninstall Live OneCare, but it also uninstalls Security Essentials. I just tried it and it works.

Download it at this address: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=81699

Three clicks, one restart and it's done!

If it were enough to call on "addition/subtraction," we wouldn't be asking the question.

Hi, even in add/remove it doesn't want to go away.

I created a program and functionality, and after that I could no longer use the program, had to reinstall the entire Windows 7 system. So be careful, everyone!

Firstly, MSSE is a good free antivirus. I don't see why you would remove it for something that's heavier and not better.

To remove it, go to Control Panel --> Programs and Features ---> view installed updates (in the left section) --> look for Microsoft Security Essentials in the list.

    Hi:

How to manually uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials if you are unable to uninstall it using the "Add/Remove Programs" feature:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2435760/en

"Note: Apply this knowledge base article only if you are running Microsoft Security Essentials version 1.0.1963 or earlier (1.0.1407.0, 1.0.1500.0, 1.0.1610.0, 1.0.1961.0). Do not apply for versions starting with the number 2." You can still do it; it purges (because personally, I have already seen remnants of a previous version in the Windows 7 x64 security center when uninstalling a newer version).
