Hello everyone,

simple question: can a virus attach itself to an mp3 file?
and potentially, if this mp3 is infected, can burning it onto an audio CD transmit the virus?

thanks

An MP3 can indeed contain a virus. This is due to the MP3 itself, which is not a standard MP3 but contains part of the MP3 header and an executable code. This type of virus requires the use of specific software that allows for a buffer overflow. For example, there is a buffer overflow that enables code execution in older versions of Winamp.

Old versions of Winamp, that is to say 1.00 alpha or even more recent?
