Well, as its name suggests, it's a bay where you can put a special hard drive, the media drive. You can only find it at HP; I have no idea about the prices of these hard drives because mine came with my tower. But in any case, it's quite useful.

    Hi

for your PC, I have the same media drive bay and a hard drive that you can add, but it's expensive. Look on Google, a 250 MB drive costs 190 euros, hmm....................

    I hope I’ve helped you

    see you soon

Um... regarding the price, I don’t quite agree.

@chlo Uh... Dom says "a hard drive that you can add." What do you think a hard drive is for, you smart aleck? xD

      Good evening,
no, it also connects via USB in addition to the dedicated bay: it comes with the cable and is powered through USB: fortunately, we have a choice for the connection (in case we have several PCs that are not HP lol)

This post dates back to last year, but it may provide some insight for those interested. I just ordered an HP Pocket Media USB 2.0 from the USA on eBay, 500 GB for $124, or €97 including shipping. I should receive it in about 10 days.
