My LG TV cannot find any channels. Solved/Closed

Question

Hello, I just bought an LG television for 590 euros at Cora.

HD Ready
Integrated TNT

I managed to perfectly find the "standard" channels (TF1, Arte, M6, France 2/3, Canal+) but when I search for the TNT channels, nothing.

I live in Melun, more specifically in Moissy Cramayel, I checked and I believe we receive TNT here (40km south of Paris).

To find the "standard" channels, I did:

INPUT->TV->Menu->Config->Auto search.
Everything works, the quality, the sound, the picture...

To find the TNT channels (integrated), I do:

INPUT->DTV->Menu->Config->Auto search.
Nothing, it searches but finds nothing.

INPUT->TV->Menu->Config->Manual search
Same: nothing.

In
INPUT->DTV->Menu->Config I have:

Auto search
Manual search->VHF CH. "5" (the number can be changed from 5 (default) to 69)
Program editing (to organize the channels, like TF1>position1, France2>pos2...)
Antenna power 5V-> On/Off (I set it to On)
Auto update-> On/Off (I set it to On)

Summary of the problem: After searching for TNT channels (TNT integrated into the TV), no channel is found. LG HD Ready television and I believe I am in the reception area for TNT.

Impeccable !!! The trick of changing the country works :) I replaced "france" with "--", the search started and boom 20 TNT channels for me!  THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!

remove the 5 volts from the antenna, it's for digital antennas but first initialize your TV

Hello!!!
To get the TNT channels, you first need to set the country to something other than "France".
Choose the NETHERLANDS instead.
Then accept the update, and the channel search will restart, and then you'll have the TNT.
But the HD channels won't work on this LG.

To receive TNT, you need a rooftop antenna, but often, the old ones are not efficient enough, especially on the higher channels, which is precisely where most multiplexes are located.....but you should at least have the lower channels, unless the TNT transmitter in your area is positioned very differently compared to the terrestrial transmitter.....

To be sure, the signal from the antenna should be measured by a qualified installer, but this won't be free: if the signal is weak, it's the responsibility of the co-ownership to improve the situation (orientation, pre-amplifier...) but it might take a while. So, if it works with an indoor antenna, if it doesn't pose any "aesthetic" issues and considering its cost, I wouldn't hesitate, I would buy one. In fact, that's what I have and I'm very happy with it.

Hello Samsoft,

I also live in Moissy-Cramayel and it's normal not to receive the TNT with your TV's built-in tuner because our municipality has chosen to have all households installed with UPC-Numericable. We receive the terrestrial channels this way as well as the TNT, but you have to request a decoder which has recently become available for free with a deposit check of €75 (what a shame!)
The TNT tuner on the TV (I have a LG 37LH3000 HD) is not compatible to pick up the signal without this decoder.

Hello everyone,

I'm arriving long after, but having just encountered this problem of searching for TNT channels on my LG 42LS5600, here’s how we resolved it with the store's customer service.

The selected country = France. It is indeed possible to select another country, and we will find all our French channels but in disorder.

When entering the automatic channel search program, it is necessary to first select "antenna" (if we have an aerial on the roof) or cable (if we are cabled), then we must deselect "SECAM L", which is checked by default, and check "Digital" instead.
In fact, "SECAM-L" corresponds to the analog signal that no longer exists!!

I hope I could help anyone who encounters the same problem.
