Hello,
my DVD reader is no longer working: yellow question mark in the device manager, and I'm struggling to recover the driver.
Does anyone have this missing driver? Where can I find it?

On my-config.com, they don’t offer to download it...
Thanks in advance

Yes, of course: since yesterday, I've been looking, but I can't find anything. It's possible that I'm looking the wrong way. If someone can help me...

I found it well, it's simple. I formatted again and now the drive is working (don't restart the computer right away, otherwise it won't work). I went to Control Panel > System > Hardware > CD DVD ROM Drive > Properties on the drive > Driver > Driver Properties

When you get there, look at all the .sys files and identify the one that doesn't have the small validation icon next to it. Check where it is located (c:\windows\system32\drivers), then go to Start > Search > "driver_name" > OK

Finally, at the end of the search, verify that the path matches (c:\windows\system32\drivers), copy it to your desktop, and that's it (at least for me).

If I'm not explaining myself well, ask me at:
    - dodo66300@hotmail.fr or
    - 6x-sexy-x6@live.fr

      Hello dodo66

Next time, don't format and do this: if your CD/DVD drive is not reading anymore, doesn't show up in "My Computer", but appears in Device Manager with a yellow triangle and an error code (10, 19, 31, 32, 37, 39, or 41), start by deleting the upperfilters and lowerfilters. You can delete them automatically on restart like this:

Save this file to your desktop: http://docxp.mvps.org/b1n/DisparitionCD.inf then right-click on it, install it, and restart your PC as is.

This avoids registry manipulations and it works even for Vista.

I also have the same problem with
Notebook Compacq NC6320 (no solution found on the HP site)
      Windows XP PRO

DVDRAM GMA-4082N does not even appear in the device list.

      I tested
      DisparitionCD.inf but it doesn't work.

      I also tried:

      ConflitServicesCD.reg:
      [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdr4_2K]

      [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdralw2k]

      [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrudf]

      [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UdfReadr]

      UpperLowerFilter.reg
; Deletes the registry values UpperFilters and LowerFilters (error codes 19, 31, 32, and 39)
      [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]
      "UpperFilters"=-
      "LowerFilters"=-

      and removing the IDE/SATA controllers
then rebooted, it worked the first time but then disappeared again!!!

      Can you help me?

    and no...
I had indeed seen this page: there is a nice picture of the DVD reader, but when you click on software, the driver for this reader is not offered.
That's why I'm struggling, I'm searching, but every time I end up finding useless information...

    http://www.bha.co.jp/en/download/utilities/dvdram.html
it's a driver for a player that works for several different brands

Thank you anyway, but it's still not good: apparently it's an update, but it refuses to install with the message "the DVD-RAM driver application to be updated is not installed. Configuration program canceled."
And for good reason, it is not installed; that's what I've been trying to do for hours...
    To be continued...

I admit that it amazes me that it's not on the LG site; have you contacted them?

By clicking on "HN03," you load the reader's flash. Then you launch it, making sure beforehand that your reader is empty.
By doing this, is your problem still present?

I searched everywhere and I can't find it, I asked someone more knowledgeable than me on the subject, apparently you need to contact LG customer service.

Thank you Moska, but this is still an update and not the initial driver: it tells me "can't find the target drive."

      Hello dodo66

      What is the exact problem?

Does your drive appear in the workstation and in the device manager?
