Hello everyone,
Quick technical question about the game. As you all know, you have the opportunity to earn cards over time by evolving your metropolis. I've been playing this game for a long time and have tried several times in vain to save my profile so I can, for example, reinstall the game after formatting and keep my progress without having to start from scratch with my metropolis every time. Does anyone have a solution to save me hours of gameplay? :)
Thank you

--> My Documents
--> My Game
--> AgeOfEmpireIII
--> Save Game
you save the save game folder and reinstall it in the same place after formatting and reinstalling the game
there you go, I hope this is the answer you were expecting -
To change the level of your metropolis, go to:
My Documents => My Games => Age Of Empires 3 => Savegames
there you will find your metropolises, right-click on one and click on "modify"
in the line <level>X</level> where X is the level of your metropolis, replace it with the desired level; this will change your level but not your number of cards.
For the cards, if I remember correctly, it's the line <skillpoints>Y</skillpoints> where Y is your number of unused cards. Again, you put the desired number of cards.
To keep your metropolises, the "Savegame" folder should not be placed in "Program Files" but in: My Documents => My Games => Age Of Empires 3
You will find your metropolises as they are.
See you later =)-
P.S :
"I also add that I went to look in the game files and I saw that the 'Savegame' folder, which I believe is supposed to exist, is non-existent."
The Savegame folder only exists in the path I gave you, namely "My Documents," it does not exist in the main game directory ("Program Files")
Hoping I have been clear and able to help you =)

Perfect! It worked for me. I was able to install my metropolis level on my second PC (laptop) by copying and pasting the file. I also managed to increase the civilization level and the number of points for the cards. However, on my laptop where I also had some low-level metropolises, strangely, they didn't appear in the file, but well, I wasn't that interested in them anyway :)

Hello everyone!
I have exactly the same problem as the two previous users. Every time I exit the game and open it again, I can't seem to retrieve my metropolis that I created. The select a metropolis window is empty. Furthermore, every time I recreate a metropolis with the same name, an error message appears: "A metropolis already bears this name."
Could you please help me?
Thank you in advance. -

I had a trick to set it to 999 in no time, but I can't quite remember how to do it. You have to go into the search on the PC, and then you need to type a special trick, and you have access to the file of your metropolises, then you change the numbers in there (only the numbers).
If you remove other tricks after, it causes your game to crash.
