Hello, this is chrisani
I had a problem with an Epson Stylus Photo RX500. Alarm element at end of life,
and I managed to troubleshoot thanks to the forum.
Here’s how my printer was reset.
Turn off the printer, press the n/b - color - stop buttons, turn the printer back on without releasing the buttons until the
load/eject light blinks
release the buttons (init eeprom message)
press the color button once (push power sw message) turn off the printer.
Turn the printer back on and it’s good to go

I have the same problem with my Epson RX 640, but I can't figure out how to do the operations. Thank you for your help.

Hello, I have a problem with my ink cartridges; the black, magenta, and yellow ones are full, but when I do a nozzle check, they are not working. Please help me, thank you.
-
Thank you for this effective solution.
For those like me who have an Epson RX620, it didn't work the first time.
A few variations:
Turn off the printer
Press the n/b and stop buttons (be careful, it’s the red button above the color button and not the power button! I personally got caught the first time)
Turn the printer back on without releasing the buttons
Release the buttons when the init eeprom message appears (white writing on a black background with other info)
Press the color button once, be careful no message appears on the RX620.
Turn off the printer.
Turn the printer back on. It should work.
I hope this will be a good addition to the information from our savior of the day,
Thanks again!!! -

THANK YOU, thanks to you, I just gave a new life to my Epson Stylus Photo RX620 printer. Happy New Year 2009.

Congratulations! Your tips work wonders, I could already see myself returning my multifunction printer, now the problem is solved. I just need to figure out how to clean that darn ink-soaked foam carpet.
Thanks again!-

Hello
I have a problem with an Epson Stylus RX 620 printer
I pressed the buttons as instructed and it indicates that an error has occurred with the printer
Please refer to your documentation
There is nothing mentioned
What should I do, thank you- Hello Jeannot.
I see that you have the same problem as me with your RX620
the other issue is that it asks me to change the black cartridge even though I just did, and plus they don't seem empty at all, both of them.
I've looked in the Epson manual, but there is no such error mentioned
if you get the solution to our problem, let me know
thanks in advance

Thank you for the end-of-life troubleshooting
Could you also tell me how to clean or replace the foams
Thanks once again -
And for resetting or zeroing the counter (of the print head cleaning?) of an Epson Stylus Photo R300:
Good evening
I had this problem with my R300
1°- Turn off the printer
2°- Press simultaneously: STOP + Maintenance (ink/paper) + POWER for about 5 seconds
3°- Release the buttons when the message "Clear Waste..." appears
4°- Press "Power", this should set things right.
Thank you for this procedure which allowed me to reset my Epson Stylus Photo R300 after cleaning the ink-soaked pads (problem indicated by the message "Error Maintenance required. Some components of your printer are at the end of their life...").-

Hello,
I also have an Epson Stylus Photo R300 and am receiving the error message:
"General error
see your printer
documentation for
information about clearing
error"
I have tried the procedure you recommended on 12/11/2007, which is:
"1°-Turn off the printer
2°-Press simultaneously: STOP + Maintenance (ink/paper) + POWER for about 5 seconds
3°-Release the buttons when the message: "Clear Waste..." appears
4°-Press "Power," this should resolve the issue. "
I did see the message:
"clear waste ink ctr
finished
turn off
printer power"
Everything was going well up to that point and it resembled the key combination I had been using until now, for which I lost the paper where I wrote down the procedure.
Upon restarting the printer, I still have the same message as mentioned above, "General error..."
Do you have any suggestions on what to do?
Best regards

A big thank you, Chrisani, for your advice and your operating methods that allowed me to restart my printer, which is actually an RX600, so it works for this type of printer as well. If this can help others, give it a try and you will see... And again, well done to Chrisani!

Hello
I have an Epson Stylus Photo RX 600 printer and it seems to be stuck; there is a message on the small screen that says "an error has occurred with the printer, please refer to the manual."
Have you ever had this problem and how can I troubleshoot it myself?
Thank you for your reply
Best regards

Even after two years, I stumbled upon your trick to reset my printer and I thank you infinitely, I couldn't afford to have it repaired. It's really great. Again, a big thank you. Best regards. Catioucha.

Hi, thanks for your advice. I had the same problem as you, and by following what you said, the printer is working again. Thanks again!

Message for Chrisani.
Thank you for your procedure to reset the STYLUS EPSON RX 500 printer.
Thanks to you, I can now use my printer again.
I was about to buy new hardware because a repair is as expensive as new equipment.
Thanks again a thousand times. -

Hello,
Are the ink stamps the elements with foam inside? How can I clean them?
My RX 500 indicated "maintenance required" and now "printer error" - I'm unable to do anything.
Thank you. -
SOS!
I changed the ink cartridges and I saw an error message of type E, with the message on the screen "end of life element"!
Does anyone know a trick to fix this?
thank youuuuuuuu -
Thank you, because thanks to your advice, I managed to get my printer working again, but I'm missing 3 colors when I do a nozzle check, even though the cartridges still have ink.

Hello to you, super coach
For me, the problem is more serious; it's an electronic failure and therefore the printer is out of order, or I have to return it to Epson and that would cost me more than a regular printer. My Epson is a RX620 and I can't help you with your printer, sorry. -
Hello
Same problem as you, but with your manipulation I can't reset it, how long do we have to hold down the 2 buttons B/W and color? Thank you -
Great, thank you very much, it's working again!!!
Personally: with the printer off, I held down: Back - color paper - Stop and turned it on.
Big noise from the printer and there you go, it's back to normal.
Thank you.
