Male voice replacing my contact’s voicemail?

Good evening everyone!

Could you explain why a male voice takes over the voicemail of my contacts to ask me to record my message and then forward it instead of giving me direct access to the voicemail in question?

    Hello,

    It is likely that the contacts in question did not record a personalized voicemail message and that, depending on their operator (or if they have a landline with third-party voicemail), we are dealing with the operator's default voicemail message or the hardware voicemail.

    Thank you Clarkos for this helpful response that shed light on things, and to Brucine who had started to take an interest in my problem. I will start looking into whether the feature is available on my Xiaomi Note 14 Pro 5G.
