Hello everyone,

I'm looking for help with a Nokia QN43GV315I TV running Android TV / Google TV, purchased from Boulanger, which is now completely frozen.

The initial problem was a message indicating that storage space was exhausted. Since then, the TV has become unusable: I no longer have access to the menus, the remote control allows no navigation, and therefore I can't clear the cache, uninstall apps, or initiate a reset from the interface.

Here's everything I've already tried:

  • complete power restart, TV unplugged for several minutes;
  • unplugged Ethernet, HDMI cables, and all peripherals;
  • changed the batteries in the remote control;
  • attempted to re-pair the remote control;
  • tried using a USB mouse;
  • tried using a USB keyboard;
  • tried several USB flash drives;
  • checked the USB port: it powers the flash drive;
  • formatted USB flash drive to FAT32, with the file cvt_autorun-cmd at the root;
  • attempted with the StreamView file cvt_autorun_cmd.zip unzipped;
  • searched for a physical reset button;
  • looked for a reset hole accessible with a fine stick;
  • tried several combinations of remote control buttons;
  • contacted StreamView / Nokia and Boulanger, with no solution yet.

The USB flash drive lights up, so the port seems powered, but the TV doesn't launch any "Erasing" or recovery procedures. The USB mouse and keyboard also do not allow navigation.

I'm therefore looking for a specific solution for this model or a technical lead:

  1. is there an official or known key combination to access recovery mode on a Nokia QN43GV315I?
  2. is there a firmware or complete recovery file for this model?
  3. should the file cvt_autorun-cmd be renamed or is there a specific structure needed on the USB flash drive?
  4. is there a hidden button or hardware reset procedure for this model?
  5. has anyone successfully unlocked a Nokia TV in a "storage space running out" loop without access to menus?

Thank you in advance for any concrete leads. I'm looking for a step-by-step procedure, even technical, as long as it's suitable for this type of Nokia / StreamView TV.

    So, I've never encountered this situation, and I don’t have the device on hand, so my questions/tests will purely be based on internet research.

    Could you briefly explain what the TV displays when you turn it on? An error message, logo, then starts normally, but no actions work anymore?

    My research:

    - You mentioned that you formatted the USB stick to FAT32, which is indeed necessary, but some also specify that you need a partition table in MBR and not GPT.

    - Do you have a physical power button or joystick on your TV (under the logo, under the standby LED, behind the TV)? There might be a way to boot into recovery using that button.

    - Regarding the "cvt_autorun-cmd" file, once again, according to my research, the TV expects EXACTLY that name. However, Windows has the annoying tendency to apply an extension to the file (logical for it), which is also hidden.

        - On Windows 11, in an Explorer

        - Click on "View" then "Show" at the bottom

        - Ensure that "File name extensions" is checked

        - Then check that the file in question does not have an extension.

    That's basically what I could find, sorry for not being able to provide more info or concrete tests.

    Hello, thank you for your reply.

    I don't know how to format in MBR via Windows 10.

    I do have a button under the TV that seems to just be an on/off switch.

    My cvt_autorun_cmd file has no extension on Windows 10.

    a way to do it but that erases everything

    under win

    press Shift+F10

    command prompt

    x:\sources>

    type diskpart

    then list disk

    select disk "x"

    the disk "x" is selected

    then clean

    diskpart successfully cleaned

    then convert mbr

    diskpart converted to mbr format

    exit

    we're not all geniuses but we're working on it

      Hello,

      This MBR/GPT story is beyond me; there’s no reason to have GPT on an external device unless it comes with an operating system that requires it or if it’s over 2 TB.

      Generally speaking, USB drives used for firmware updates are small and formatted outside of GPT, so there’s no need to wonder about it.

      What’s missing in this context is more likely the procedure, if it exists, to boot from this USB stick using the TV.

      It seems that the file being referred to pertains to a Nokia Streaming Box (whatever that might be) and not a TV, in which case it probably won’t work.

      Our "friends" in Russia have mentioned a procedure for another model of TV:

      but a search for "QN43GV315I reset" (or "recovery usb") yields nothing; I also assume that there’s a menu on the TV itself for resetting it?
