Hello,

On a a 2018 Toyota C-HR hybrid.

It has become impossible to make phone calls from the dashboard, as I no longer have any numbers in the GPS screen unit's directory... Since I got a new "Android 14" phone.
The pairing works well, the model is recognized (Umidigi G9 5G), it shows connected in the car and on the smartphone... But..
When the directory update should happen, it's still in progress 24 hours later, the transfer does not occur. With the old phone of the same brand, this process took 3 minutes. And it no longer works.


A call works if I dial the number on the dashboard.
I tried my phone in another car (Toyota Aircross) and it works, but I tried several smartphones on my Toyota and they all have the same issue, none work for the directory transfer..!! I've tried many things over the past week.

    Hello,

    I have a somewhat comparable problem (Skoda, 2025) where the tablet randomly stops displaying phone contacts, and it doesn't show the phone at all either.

    The situation seems to be resolved for now by deleting the Bluetooth connection on the phone, which results in an automatic reconnection that requires the appropriate code.

    I also assume that on the phone, Android Auto must have the appropriate permissions (nearby devices, contacts, call logs, SMS, phone) and that the Phone app must have the same (contacts, call logs, SMS...).

    Yes, it's the same points for me too... while being slightly different.

    I think it's my phone that's preventing the sharing or transmission of the directory. An unauthorized forgetfulness..?

    Transferring via the SIM card..? indeed, SIM cards have become empty, it's Google that manages all this... Now, it is possible that in 2018 the SIM card was the basis for this transfer..??? I will see

      Airdroid (or others) can transfer a certain number of things from phone to phone, not to tablet where you generally don't have access.

      I'm not sure that storing contacts on the SIM card (limited anyway) depends on the android version rather than the specific phone model (my current phone originally on android 11 no longer had the option) and in any case you can't connect the SIM card to the car either.

      As far as I remember, it worked on my 2018 Honda with an even older phone originally on android 6, but the various functions depend on a specific car model being perfectly compatible with the phone model, and on the car more on the car brand's software than on the android version which is almost always outdated (android 4 on the Honda).
