Hello,

ThunderBird forced an update on me on December 9th. Problem is, the new version did NOT RETRIEVE the archives: I have nothing in "sent items," nothing in "trash," and especially NO FOLDER at all where I used to organize my emails. Moreover, the "sent items" section is now called "sent," and "trash" has also been translated into English. Question: how can I recover my archives, my folders, and subfolders? Thank you

    hello

    POP or IMAP account?

Are the files on the PC or on the mail server?

If on the server, go to the mail server with the browser (webmail), are the files visible?

    Hello DUBCEK

The problem has finally been resolved thanks to CHAT GPT. I am on POP and the files were indeed on my PC, I could see them, but I couldn't retrieve them in TB. In fact, chat GPT explained to me that it is common for TB to mistakenly create a LOCAL FOLDERS 1 folder during updates that duplicates the original LOCAL FOLDER. Then, TB places the folders in the original Local Folders while sourcing them from Local.. 1, WHERE THEY ARE NO LONGER. That's why they don't appear anymore in the TB display on my PC. The solution is quite simple: you need to merge LOCAL FOLDERS and LOCAL FOLDERS 1, keeping only the latter. Specifically, you need to rename local...original to Local...1. Windows responds that there is already a Local...1 and offers to merge them. You need to say OK. So, upon restarting TB, it will search for the folders in Local Folders 1...since it has no other choice, as there is only this folder left. And there you go, problem solved.
