I can no longer import photos from the Galaxy to the PC.

Solved

Hello,

Since the last Windows 10 update, I can no longer import photos from my Galaxy A25 5G via my email.

The device no longer appears in the file explorer; HOWEVER, a window pops up and I don't understand ANYTHING AT ALL. Apparently, it's for file transfer, but that's not what I want.

ON TOP OF THAT, I really don't like that Microsoft is intruding like this.

In your opinion, how can I go back to how it was before?

Thank you for your help ;-)

  1. In fact, a Microsoft window opens on the Photos app and tells me to respond to the notification sent to the phone.

    After several attempts, I saw it. So I need to clarify that it is not to charge the phone but to import files. I check it and nothing happens.

    Before that, I would open the file explorer and I could see the Galaxy connected. Now, there’s still nothing and it happened overnight. Strange!

    1. SO the window that opens on the Galaxy is USB Settings where I have to check "file transfer" every time I need it.

      The PHOTO window opens on the PC like this:

      So I have to search through hundreds or even thousands of photos for the one I want to retrieve from my Galaxy because I don't have access to the phone's Albums.

      If I manage to find it, I have to save it on my PC
      Go back to my email, ATTACH, and search for the saved file or photo;

      JUST TO REMIND you, 48 HOURS ago when I plugged the Galaxy cable into the PC, my phone appeared in the File Explorer where I would search for my file or photo to INSERT into my email.

      I imagine they are doing it on purpose since I signed up for the update over a year ago.

      1. Well! After plugging and unplugging and replugging my phone, I managed to get a window on the PC where I could ask to OPEN the Galaxy, which now appears correctly in the File Explorer.

        PHEW!
