Ideal motherboard for office work and streaming

Hello,
I'm looking to acquire an ATX or MICRO ATX motherboard (at a minimum) to build a new configuration for my slim desktop PC. I would like Windows 11 as my current motherboard does not support Windows 11.
My authorized e-commerce sites are materiel.net or ldlc.com/. These sites offer payment in three installments.
I'm looking for the same type of motherboard as always. Simply to do office work, text processing, print web pages and texts, surf the internet, and stream on YouTube and Dailymotion.
If possible, a motherboard that will support Windows 12 in the future.
I would like a motherboard where I can connect 2 internal hard drives, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
I already have a keyboard, a mouse, and a monitor, as well as one hard drive.
In addition, I will need a graphics card and a processor with a cooler compatible with the motherboard.
I don't know if such a motherboard in ATX or MICRO ATX format (minimum) exists on the two sites mentioned above. The ideal motherboard for me.
I hope someone understands what I'm talking about.
Thank you for reading.

Hello,
I like setups based on Intel and Gigabyte motherboards, but I'm not very familiar with the latest ones, nor with Micro ATX boards.
Just to say that for me, Gigabyte and Intel are just fine; they make well-designed motherboards.
Among other things, I like that the BIOS key is Delete, and the Boot Menu key is F12, not F8 like starting in safe mode, after running the command (CMD as Admin) bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy
Hoping that those more knowledgeable than me on the hardware side can provide more guidance.
Have a nice day.

Good evening @dany311 StatutContributeur, thank you for replying to me. It was this Tuesday the 12th that I read your message from June 29th more carefully. I was very busy elsewhere. Sorry for the delay. I hope you won't be too upset.
I'm only reacting to your message from June 29th, disregarding the responses from the other volunteers who replied to my message.
So it's a thousand times better for the processor to have the cooler and its famous chip attached to it? Is it not good to buy these 3 items separately? Okay! Thank you.
Many people are trying to convince me to buy an SSD hard drive. Are the other hard drives not good?
I hope you understood something. I'm awaiting your comments. Thank you.
Hello,
"I would like Windows 11 because my current motherboard does not support Windows 11."
If your PC does not accept Windows 11, it is not just the motherboard that is at fault, but also the CPU. Therefore, you would need to change the CPU, the motherboard, and possibly the RAM, if possible for DDR5.
You want a motherboard in ATX or mATX format, you need to make sure that your case accepts these two formats, with ATX being the most common. As for paying in three installments, you can find that option elsewhere besides LDLC.
PS: you need to indicate the budget you want to allocate for these changes.
Good evening @epango StatutMembre
It is only this Tuesday, the 12th, that I am responding to your message from July 2nd. I have been very busy elsewhere. Sorry for the delay.
Yes, my only current case is indeed a slim micro-atx. It's small. For now, I have only found ldlc and materiel offering payment in 3 installments above a certain amount. I haven't found it elsewhere and I continue my research.
So I need to change all my internal peripherals. Okay! For the motherboard and processor, I can go up to €150 excluding tax for each of them. For the motherboard, due to the format of the case I already have, I am primarily looking for a small motherboard, micro-atx or mini-atx.
I will send you screenshots from August 2025 to show you the specifications of my internal peripherals, the memory, and the processor. I hope this will be sufficient for your understanding.
According to you, do I have DDR5? Thank you.
The information provided by the capture does not allow, at first glance, to determine whether it is DDR5 or not. However, given the frequency of the modules (2666Mz), it is most likely DDR4. As I mentioned before, it is not difficult to find a micro-ATX motherboard. Their references end with an m or M. You choose a CPU, then the motherboard on which you can install it.
Hello @fabul StatutModérateur @dany311 StatutContributeur @epango StatutMembre
Thank you for responding to me. I hope that with the three of you, I will manage to get by.
Since ldlc.com and materiel.net offer payment in 3 installments, I am primarily looking for a micro-atx motherboard. In order to have an atx motherboard, I first need an atx case, but I don't have such a case yet.
I only have a small atx case. The problem is that for months, Windows 10 has been regularly informing me on my boot screen that in October 2025, updates for Windows 10 will no longer be available, so the message on my screen advises me to upgrade to Windows 11 if I want to continue receiving updates.
So according to you, to have a motherboard that will work with Windows 11, do I need to buy a Windows 11 motherboard but also change other internal components?
I will take the opportunity to format my old 930-gigabyte internal hard drive. According to the local IT technician who examined my slim central unit, I do not have space for 2 internal hard drives, but I forgot to ask if he was referring to the motherboard or the micro-atx metal case. I need to find the time to go back and ask him the question.
What I am aiming for right now is to have a working PC after October 2025, updates or not.
Regarding ldlc or materiel.net, since they offer payment in a maximum of 3 installments or in full, my budget to buy only the atx or micro-atx motherboard would be around €120 to €200 maximum, excluding shipping costs and not including the memory stick, graphics card, processor with cooler.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any other e-commerce sites based in France, exclusive computer sellers who also offer payment in 3 or 4 installments.
Since I am primarily looking for a motherboard that can effectively handle word processing, printing and scanning images and texts, browsing the internet, streaming on YouTube, DailyMotion, FranceTV, listening to audio files, sometimes doing all this at the same time, which one is better? AMD or Intel?
Thank you for reading me. I hope you understood what I'm talking about.
Re Hello,
Are you looking for a motherboard for an existing slim case from a brand like HP?
That's asking for trouble; if that's the case, it would be better to check the Power, Power Led, Reset connectors, etc.
I recently bought a Mini PC solely for basic needs, without a graphics card (Intel Celeron N100 CPU (Gen 12) with integrated video chipset), brand CHUWI, it works for office tasks, etc., and functions via HDMI 2.0 with my 4K monitor, but it’s not very good for gaming. I tested a small game that worked, but some graphics were lagging; however, for the price it cost, it might not lag on "smaller" games at 1080P.
I feel like you have trouble mastering what you're being told:
"In order for me to have the motherboard in ATX format, I first need an ATX case, but I don't have such a case yet."
"I only have a small case in ATX format."
Maybe you meant to say that you have a micro-ATX (m-ATX) case. Otherwise, an ATX case can accommodate both ATX motherboards and m-ATX or even mini-ITX motherboards.
The use of Windows 11 does not depend on the case format or the motherboard format. It only depends on the generation of the processor (CPU), as older CPUs do not support Windows 11. If you buy a current and not second-hand CPU, it will run Windows 11 without problems.
"As for ldlc or materiel.net, since they offer payment in 3 installments maximum or in cash, my budget for buying just the ATX or micro-ATX motherboard would be around €120 to €200 maximum, not including shipping costs and excluding the memory stick, graphics card, processor with cooler."
When selecting parts, you don't start with the motherboard, but with the CPU. It's the CPU that will dictate the type of motherboard, cooler, and RAM you need to choose.
PS: "Since I am mainly looking for a motherboard that can properly handle word processing, printing and scanning images and texts, surfing the internet, streaming on YouTube, Dailymotion, France TV, listening to audio files, sometimes all of this at once, which is better? AMD or Intel?"
Scanning images depends on your printer. For now, the best choice is AMD.
Hello,
"The use of Windows 11 does not depend on the case format or the motherboard format. It only depends on the generation of the processor (CPU); older CPUs do not support Windows 11. If you buy a current CPU and not a second-hand one, it will run Windows 11 without any problem."
So I first need to look for the right processor that supports and manages Windows 11, and then the micro-ATX motherboard that matches that processor?
Only ldlc.com or materiel.net
Thank you.
At Intel, it is from the 8th generation of Core i that Windows 11 can be managed. At AMD, it is from the 3rd generation of Ryzen (Ryzen 3000), I believe. It is Microsoft who did this to force the purchase of new hardware. If you choose a CPU from the compatible generations, the motherboard that goes with it will necessarily be compatible with Windows 11.

Good evening @fabul StatutModérateur, thank you for responding. It was this Tuesday, the 12th, that I read your message from June 29th more carefully. I was very busy elsewhere. Apologies for the delay.

My current motherboard inside my micro-atx case is a Gigabyte H510M H x.x;
If you have any other questions about my setup, I look forward to your message.
What I am primarily looking for is for my slim desktop computer to continue functioning as usual after October 2025, possibly by purchasing a more powerful micro-atx motherboard that will work with Windows 11. I want Windows 11 because I want to benefit from updates.
Since I already have a black micro-atx case, I am mainly looking for a micro-atx motherboard to save some money. If I have to buy an atx motherboard, then I will also need to buy an atx case.
My current BIOS is from American Megatrends F8 dated June 18, 2021. The version of the SMBIOS is 3.3. The BIOS mode is UEFI.
On my wired azerty keyboard, I have at the top the F12 and F8 keys and many other F keys, but I avoid touching them because I don't know what will happen suddenly. I don't want to trigger a system that I won't know how to stop.
I hope you understood something. I look forward to your feedback. Thank you.
