Switch from ATV to DTV on Samsung LE22B450 TV.

Hello,

I have an old Samsung television (LE22B450 C4W XC).

With the change of channels today, I did an automatic search and I don't have all the channels, I only have channels 12 to 25 in DTV.

The others, from 1 to 11, are impossible; the television is in ATV for that part.

I have done the automatic channel search 3 times, and it's always the same.

I must have made a mistake, but what should I do???

I need to switch my TV back to DTV, but how???

If someone can help me, I thank you in advance.

Best regards...

Manu

Connecting multiple televisions to the same antenna cable is not normal. Normally, there should be a TV splitter connected to the antenna and then as many cables connected to that splitter as there are televisions to power.

    Hello,

When searching for channels, please perform a digital-only search.

In France, analog channels (ATV) have not existed since 2011.

    Hello,

this TV was released in 2009... It's highly likely that it is no longer compatible with the latest image standards... the frequencies, definitions, and encoding have changed significantly since 2016...

It may still be possible to receive a signal with an adapter tuner... if it's receiving via antenna ..??

If it's through satellite or the internet, that requires more details.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your responses:

I have only conducted the search in digital mode, but I only have part of the channels.

Before this update, it was working very well, this change does not concern channels 1-2-3 etc... so I don't see why I don't have them.

I would like to try a reset (factory reset) but I don't know the procedure.

    Thank you for your help.

Having had the same kind of issue this morning with a Samsung television

I invite you to restart the automatic search by checking:

      • The country is set to France (on digital channels)
      • The choice of terrestrial/cable is set to Terrestrial.
      • The antenna source to be memorized is set to digital

See the French manual page 9 (45 of the PDF below)

      The manual: https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200910/20091012150336046/BN68-02359A-02L09-1007.pdf

As for a reset, see page 8 (44 of the PDF) for the Plug and Play function

        Hello,

As a side note, on my Samsung which isn't exactly brand new but still not that old, no problem: as soon as I turned it on, it indicated that the channels had changed and offered an automatic search to refresh by choosing OK, that was it except that it might have asked me to choose between Terrestrial and Cable and of course I chose Terrestrial.

I have checked - The Country - Terrestrial - Digital, but nothing changes, still 11 channels out of 25.

As for the reset, I press "Menu" but "conf" does not appear, as indicated on page 44, so I cannot perform a reset.

I can obviously only rely on the notice found at Samsung.. If it doesn't match, it's not going to be easy.

We can try to do a manual search channel by channel. But for that, you need to know which broadcaster you depend on. Give me your city of residence and I will give you the channels to search.

We live in "Saint Hilaire du Harcouët" 50600 in the Manche department. The transmitter is that of "Caen" in Calvados.

Thank you again for your help.

The Arcom for Saint Hilaire du Harcouët gives me a transmitter in Mortain, not in Caen.

The channels on this transmitter are:

      R1 Channel 25 Reception quality: 3 out of 5
      ( 2 France 2 - 3 France 3 - 4 france4 - 16 France info)

      R2 Channel 42 Reception quality: 4 out of 5
      (12 Gulli - 13 BFM TV - 14 CNEWS - 17 CSTAR - 18 T18)

      R4 Channel 29 Reception quality: 4 out of 5
      (5 France 5 - 6 M6 - 7 Arte - 9 W9 - 22 6ter - 26 Paris Première (Paid))

      R6 Channel 28 Reception quality: 3 out of 5
      (1 TF1 - 8 LCP - 10 TMC - 11 TFX - 15 LCI)

      R7 Channel 45 Reception quality: 3 out of 5
      (20 TF1 séries - 21 L'Equipe - 23 RMC story - 24 RMC découv - 25 Chérie25)

      So try to do a manual search on the corresponding channels (25 - 28 - 29 - 42 - 45) for these various multiplexes.

If you really have access to all the channels between 12 and 25, it's curious because you do indeed receive all the R1 to R7 channels.

I therefore reiterate my initial question: did you only perform an automatic search for digital channels only and not a search for both digital and analog channels?

Maybe it's not tuned to the right TV relay...?

What has changed on the channels..? why redistribute the frequencies..?

    Hello,

    Thank you for your help.

I've made some progress; by plugging the TV into a different outlet, I was able to get all the channels and it works normally.

However, when I plug it back in the bedroom, I no longer receive channels 1 to 11 + 15 + 16 + 22 + 26 + 34, which correspond to the frequencies: 25/42/28/45, I only receive channel 29. The TV tells me "weak or no signal," which is curious because before the changes yesterday, it was working just fine.

Fortunately, this TV is hardly ever used and the others work very well.

For now, I'll set this problem aside; I'll revisit the wiring later.

    Have a nice weekend,

    Sincerely.

    Manu

Try searching for channels by unplugging the working television(s).

    Hello,

I just unplugged the other TVs, the bedroom TV is working normally.

2nd attempt: All TVs plugged back in, the problem returns.

3rd attempt: Main TV (Samsung QLed/4K) on, the bedroom TV works normally, as soon as I turn off the main TV, the bedroom TV goes back to having issues.

The bedroom TV is connected to the same outlet as the main TV.

We're making progress little by little.

    Best regards.

    Manu

    Hello,

In my opinion, the received signal is weak; perhaps the emitted power has also decreased due to these changes..?

In any case, everything is pulled from the same coaxial cable with extension. It's not like 220v; this signal is weak, that's what the antenna receives in microvolts.

The signal is fully supplied to the TV if it is the only one... However, with two TVs on the line, the signal level is halved... And if we get into the details, it's even more complicated than that...

We need to check the quality of the cable, its aging, the connectors, the taps (to be avoided); we need splitters with 4G filtering... for example... The lengths, bends, reflections along the line, etc... etc...

In short, this reception doesn't have enough power for what is being asked of it.

What I'm saying is just my technical opinion... you can do whatever you want with it..!
