Hello,

On my laptop (W11), I can't access the hard drive of my Freebox. I can see it in the network devices, but when I try to connect to it, there’s an error, and Windows runs a diagnostic, then tells me it found nothing!? I also can’t connect to my "Recalbox" PC, which is also visible in the network devices!?

The strangest thing is that on the same PC, but with W10, with the same settings, there are no problems!? Weird....

    Hello

To access the network from W11, you need to enable authenticated access.

In fact, you have always had to identify yourself to access a network share, but Windows 11 is finally starting to adhere to basic security rules.

And it's not like it wasn't written down.

So, when I click on that, it doesn't work...

but if I click on that, it's fine, it works!

    Hello,

    recommended reading,

even though it doesn't exactly match your problem, all I can tell you is that I don't use network locations, but always "this PC".

The network announcements for the locations via dlna are meant for other devices (like TVs) that are not Windows.

And there you go, there it is ....

But goodness, those line spaces are so annoying!!

      Hello

The problem is that in "This PC" I only see "Freebox Server", I can't see the other devices on my network!

Since my desktop PC connected via ethernet, I have no issues, I can access all the devices on the network.

Except, sometimes, for Recalbox, I have to run a network diagnostic, it tells me there are no errors and then I can connect to it!

    Hello

    The saga continues.....

The "Freebox Server" icon doesn't always appear in "This PC", so I have no choice but to go through "Network", but that doesn't work! ;op

I found a "Freebox Server" icon in "Home" and it works, I have access to the HDD of my Freebox!

Whereas that same icon in "Network" opens Windows Media Player !?

But that's not all, all the files in my Freebox HDD show 0 bytes !?

I can read these files, but that's it, I can't rename or delete them !?

    ;o)

Have you activated Windows sharing in the fbx or not?

        Hello

Yes, of course, I have no issues from my desktop via ethernet.

Note that my desktop has W10, while my laptop has W11.

If you have the Freebox on a private network in Windows 11, it should be the same, it is for me and for others in any case.

    Hello,

To my knowledge (successfully tested for a friend about ten years ago), you can only access the Free volume via FTP.

Moreover, since the Freebox volume is encrypted, it's not surprising that the files appear as 0.

But I don't know any more, as I haven't had the opportunity to test since.

      Hello

No, with my desktop, I access the drive of my Freebox from Windows, just like a network drive.

Even on my laptop, by the way!

And the drive is not encrypted.
