Disappearing Word Headers on Display

Hello,
I am using Windows 11 with Word 2019 with different templates, but only one actually has a header and footer (others have embedded tables that serve the same purpose).
It’s not really a template, but a blank docx file; otherwise, these header and footer would not be there, but it amounts to the same thing. It is in the templates folder where I open it and save it immediately under the name I prefer.
For the past few days, when I open it, the header and footer only appear in the print preview and during printing itself, not during editing, which is rather annoying for formatting.
I’ve tried, thinking that I might have changed a display option, to fiddle with all the Word options without success.
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
By any chance, the headers and footers might simply be hidden.
Move the mouse to the top of the page; it should change into a sort of square with an up and down arrow, the tooltip is "Double-click to show spaces."
Hello,
for your information, in the "Header and Footer" tab there is a checkbox "Different First Page" which allows you to have a header/footer only on the first page without adding a section break.
Hello everyone.
While waiting for other comments, the adage stating that just because one has nothing to say, one shouldn't keep their mouth shut, rings true.
Like everyone else, I have asked at least a few questions on this forum; it's rare that I haven't tried to understand and collaborate on a solution myself, which is the very principle of a forum.
The display options have nothing to do with it.
It's about displaying a header on the first page without having one on the following pages while keeping a common footer on all pages.
By searching a bit instead of spewing venom that doesn’t seem to belong here, displaying both on all pages is not a problem for me, but as soon as I remove the header from the following pages despite the different first page, all disappear.
Microsoft tells us that to discriminate, we need to use section breaks, but I can't find any way to do this because Word only offers me page breaks.

It is indeed possible that I will find it myself as has very often been the case when I have asked a question, but is that the purpose of a forum?
If I find it, great, and I will share the solution just like I have every time it has arisen; otherwise, or if someone is quicker than I am, I am open to more constructive feedback: if one doesn’t have at least a vague idea of the problem, even if it isn’t conclusive, one should be quiet; if one does have an idea, they should share it with others; in all other cases, we shouldn’t be on a forum.
Have a good evening, everyone.
I insist... :-)
Take a blank document, double-click in the Header section, check "Different first page," put anything in the header, and return to the body of the text.
Type some text (or =rand(10,10) and enter) and check the other pages.
Not to mention that the first page alone must have a header, but all pages need a footer, the result just tested now (Word 2019) is what I have outlined, depending on how one manipulates everything or nothing on all pages or only the first page without a header despite the option for a different first page.
Moreover, it is unclear why what is read here and there on the Internet would complicate matters for the sake of it with section breaks if simply checking this box was sufficient.
Hello,
No, but I found the first part of the problem which was as silly as a day without bread: for some reason I can't grasp, Word was displaying in Web layout instead of Page layout in the bottom bar, once I switched back to Page layout, the display is correct.
As for the second part, the template in question is almost always for a text on one page but, if there are more, I want the footer to appear on all pages and the header only on the first one unlike this ("anonymized"), I believe I understand that this involves section breaks as I mentioned, but the Page Break button doesn’t offer me that option even though it should.
It's me who is as silly as a day without bread.
We should use Page Breaks not in the Insert menu but in the Page Layout menu, we now have the option of a section break that goes to the next page in the dropdown list, which we introduce at the end of the first page.
Right-click on the header area of the second page, in the menu options deselect Link to Previous, delete the header, introduce a new section break if needed for a third page and so on, and that's that.
