TV with SCART socket and Orange decoder with HDMI socket

Hello,

Orange has decided to replace its decoder with a SCART connector with HDMI decoders. However, my old TV doesn't have an HDMI port.

So, I bought an HDMI to SCART adapter that I connected to the decoder.

It doesn't work; I have snow on the screen, and the TV doesn't seem to have recognized my adapter.

Who could help me?

I hope I have been clear enough.

Good evening

Is this really an HDMI to SCART converter?

Hello fregau,

SCART: analog signal.
HDMI: digital signal.

"I bought a SCART to HDMI adapter": a simple adapter is not enough!

You will need a digital to analog converter (In to Out), not the other way around.
But I don't see the point at all because you would be converting a digital signal to an analog signal, so of lower quality as well.

Even the DTT is digital, so you won't even be able to connect your TV directly to the antenna with a standard coaxial cable, for example.

Regards!
