Can the connector of the fiber optic cable be removed?

Solved

Hello,

I would like to pass an optical fiber cable through a wall that already has a hole.

The problem is that the moving end of the cable is just a bit too large.

Is it possible to remove this green end (see photo)

and put it back on?

Thank you in advance,

Sincerely

    Hello,

Trying to remove the green molded part from an optical cable will most certainly lead to the destruction of the cable.

The best solution is undoubtedly to widen the hole in the wall.
A concrete drill with a diameter larger than the maximum diagonal of the green connector will do the trick.

It's very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
    Especially when it's not there...

  2. Hello,

No, we cannot remove a connector from an optical patch cord, we cannot repair it without the very expensive tools needed to splice the fiber, the patch cord is dead.

    And there you go ....

But misery, how annoying are the line spacing!!

      Hello

      Subject moved.

Not for me, you need specific equipment to make the fiber connection, if you don't have it, it won't work.

Wait for other responses, I'm not a specialist in this type of connection.
