Cancel your landline subscription and keep the LiveBox.
SolvedBM -
Hello,
Question 1 - I am an ADSL subscriber with Orange, and I also have my fixed telephone line with Orange (or the former France Télécom).
If I cancel my subscription to the fixed line, will the LiveBox still work without any problems?
The LiveBox is still connected to the telephone jack!
Question 2 - My apartment is located in a building that is eligible for fiber internet, and some apartments in this building benefit from Orange's fiber internet.
If I want to subscribe to FREE's fiber internet (not Orange), is an installation by FREE in the building and also in my apartment still necessary?
If so, is it complicated or simple?
The caretaker does not have a good relationship with me, and he does not make this task easier.
Sincerely,

Hello
Do not cancel your subscription if you want to keep your landline number.
It is not possible to keep your current Orange Box if you cancel the landline.
Your current Orange ADSL Box is "attached" to your Orange landline.
Taking a costly fiber subscription from FREE or another provider will "trigger" the automatic cancellation of your subscription with Orange because they use your landline number to check your eligibility for fiber (whether possible or not) and immediately offer you "portability" (keeping the landline number) of your current "copper" line to replace it with fiber.
You must not "cancel" anything, it is the new provider/operator that takes care of everything!!
Allow a time frame (varies depending on regions and operators) of about 8/15 days for the installation of fiber by a technician from the new operator (mandatory) and the new subscription (you will receive the box by mail/courier/collection point).
For Free, visit Free.fr or call 1044.
See you later.
Hi
Yes, you can cancel your old fixed-line RTC ex-France Telecom
Ask Orange to keep your geographical number on your Orange ADSL subscription
Then you can switch to Fibre with Free, that's what I did, also specifying that you want to keep your geographical landline number
It’s better to get this confirmed by the concerned operators (Orange, then Free)
I have had the same landline number for 40 years
France Telecom fixed line only
Then Orange ADSL subscription and RTC line
Then deletion of the RTC fixed line and switching the landline to the Orange ADSL box
Finally, Fibre migration to Free with still the same landline number
