Transferring a WhatsApp account to a new phone.

I wanted to know if anyone has had the same situation as me.
My phone is broken and unusable; however, my SIM card and phone number are still active.
I would like to download WhatsApp on my new phone, but it asks me to retrieve a 6-digit verification code that is sent to my old phone. How can I resolve this situation?
