Hello, my Legion 5 that is barely 3 months old won't start anymore since this morning, even though it was working perfectly until now. When I try to start it, the screen stays black and nothing else lights up except for the power button indicator. I've tried various tips from the internet for hours with no results... I'm really at my wit's end, especially since I urgently need it for exams.

Hello,

You have tried to shut down the PC completely, unplugging all power sources, but also removing all USB devices, you remove the battery; you press the power button for 30 seconds, then release it.

You wait a moment, plug in the power cable, then press the power button again.

Is it guaranteed if it is only 3 months old?

If so, bring it back to the after-sales service where you purchased it along with the purchase invoice or receipt so that the warranty can be taken into account;

They will check it and will replace the P.C. without hesitation in any case.

You say that it doesn’t work, and that’s all.

You know nothing.

Ok thanks, I will have to ship it to France so that my sister can show the issue to customer service if I still haven't found a solution by next week unfortunately... But on that note, do the signs of wear pose a problem? Since there are a few small scratches on the computer.

Hello Didi64_549,

As far as the warranty is concerned, in 40 years of work, I have never seen exchanges after three months. The warranty provides for a repair under warranty service (store or manufacturer). Exchanges only occur if the seller's GTC (General Terms and Conditions of Sale, which must accompany the invoice) explicitly state so, within a short period (generally 15 days).

This is always subject to conditions (return of the packaging, intact internal seals, external condition, no drops or screen damage, for example).

In fact, unless you have an official document to provide us, I think it is risky to convey this recommendation to our visitors, who would inevitably face the merchant's refusal to comply.

Note: the "small scratches" mentioned by the requester are sufficient to refuse an exchange, even within the contractual period.

Hello to you,

Yes, I have already tried this trick but without any results. I also tried removing the RAM sticks one by one and then turning it on, but still nothing. Disconnecting the CMOS battery didn't work either, unless I did it wrong...

Hello,

Thank you very much for your responses. I will ship the computer as soon as possible so that my sister can return it to the customer service. Whether it is an exchange or a repair, either one would be fine with me as long as the PC works properly. With that said, unless there are any further responses, I will consider the issue resolved.

Hello*

Any update from customer service? I have the same issue with a machine that is 3 years old and I would love to know if the problem has been found?

Thanks in advance...

Hello,

Same for you, return customer service with the invoice as the warranty title, then request a return label as soon as you call them to raise the issue encountered.

Please also follow up on the return from customer service, thank you in advance.

Good luck
