Round Photo "arrondi" / Juda Door :
SolvedHello.
I would like to learn how to take a photo in the shape of a "ball", as if looking through the Judas* of a door.
If you know how to do it, could you please explain it to me?
Do I need a special camera or is there a free filter available?
Best regards.

Hello,
normally this optical effect is achieved using a full-frame "fisheye" lens or with editing software.
There is certainly a free filter, it's up to you to find it.

Hello, with all due respect, the image of "edhq" is square.
To have a round image, it is essential to know the nature (color) of the background on which it will be imposed.
The framing (always square or rectangular) of the image, chosen to match the background, will then reveal a round image.-

If it were a sprite (image with a mask), then the image (processed as a sprite) would be round.
But the image posted on the forum is square (and black).

Hello,
If I'm not mistaken, the author is asking how to reproduce the effect visible inside this square. This is a fisheye effect.
In this case, fredduc has responded correctly. To achieve a curvature of the image, it's possible to use a suitable lens at the time of shooting.

The effect can also be simulated with photo editing software, such as GIMP.

Thank you all for your response @fredduc, @mariam-j and @Gadjow!
All things considered, The Gimp is very much needed for my request.
To answer our question, I will explain how to create a Fisheye quickly, easily, and for free:
- Once you have opened Gimp;
- Once you have imported your image;
- You look for the ellipse surrounded by dashed lines in the Tools menu on the left (I will add screenshots later);
- You select the area to round / "ellipse" (I advise doing this with a mouse);
- You go to "Filters } Distortions } Apply Lens"
- You can choose the strength of the distortion;
- I advise you to leave the mode as "Normal";
- To remove the outline, you click on "Select } Invert (or Ctrl + L)"
- Right-click on the area to delete "Edit } Erase (or directly with the Delete key)";
- You can stop there if you want a neutral background, or choose to fill the background with either a color or a pattern (there are different models in different themes).
- At the top left, click on "File, Create" then "From Clipboard"
If you would like more precision or have a question about this, feel free to contact me;)
Here are some examples I was able to create thanks to your help.
Thank you
