New graphics card but don't know how to power it

Solved

Hello, I just bought an RX 570 (Sapphire) and I've noticed that there are 2 power connectors (6 and 8 pins), but I'm not sure if I need to power both connectors since in a YouTube video showing the installation of a similar graphics card, I saw that their graphics card only had one 8-pin connector.

I'm wondering if both connectors need to be powered knowing that I haven't found a power cable that has both 8 and 6 pins.)

    Hello

For the same model (rx570) there may be differences with the connectors depending on the choices made by the manufacturer of the card (overclocked, 8 GB of RAM instead of 4, etc.), which probably explains why you have this dual power supply.

Unfortunately, yes, you need to connect everything; otherwise, the graphics card will most likely not work. In some cases, it may work with just the 8-pin connector, but it is not advisable to leave it like that for long.

    1. Hello,

Can you tell us exactly what the full name of your card is? Because there are several models of the RX570 Sapphire, some with 6 and others with 8 pins, but so far none with both 6 and 8 pins.

      1. Do you want a photo because I don't know the exact reference?

All I can see otherwise is a label that says SAPHIRE NITRO+ RADEON RX570 4G GDDR5

Probably a nitro, they have two connectors

    2. thank you

but now I need to find a cable that does both but I haven't found one. do they exist or do I need to connect 2 cables to 2 ports

it's an 8-pin power supply only. I deduce that it requires 2 separate cables. Am I wrong?

What are you talking about? My link or your card?

The link I sent you is a connector for a graphics card, 6+2 so it can be 6 pins or 8 pins.

What do you have coming from your power supply?

        Hello

I believe that the 8-pin provides 150w to the graphics card and the 6-pin provides 75w.

I found a 6-pin that draws power from a Molex, which can help resolve situations.
