Hello, I'm trying to install Alexa on my Acer DA220HQL tablet purchased in 2013. It's impossible to do so because it's too old of a version for all the new applications. Does anyone know how I could proceed? No need to mention that I've contacted the supplier who tells me there are no updates for this device. Which means: buy again and again, in short. I've looked at tutorials in this regard. It's suggested to download via the Play Store, but unfortunately on my version it's limited. Not all applications appear. I would be eternally grateful for your help. Thank you in advance to everyone.

Hello,

Basically, it’s not really possible to upgrade to a higher version of Android... your version corresponds to what was available in 2013... which relates to a processor model, memory size, and other functions that have become possible thanks to the electronics that equip them... If you don’t have all that in your device, a higher version won’t bring anything...

A solution is to find the applications you are looking for that work on Android 4.0.4... which was very widespread...

There’s not just "Play Store," there’s also https://apkpure.com/fr/ ... https://fr.aptoide.com/

Go read this https://www.androidauthority.com/best-app-stores-936652/

You can also read this https://update-phones.com/android-updates/#anchorWhatsUpdate

In short, it all depends on what you want to do...?? because there are also Android BOXES, not very expensive, that work on a screen... But, they are not mobile like a smartphone...

Thank you very much for your responsiveness. I will check the provided links. In fact, I just want to install Alexa on it. My mother is elderly and the screen she currently has is not very large. Since I have this touchscreen, I wanted to set everything up on it for her. This would save me from having to buy the Amazon Echo Show 15". If I can't do otherwise, I will buy it then. Thank you again for your help anyway. Take good care of yourself.

It seems that Alexa no longer exists at Amazon since May 1st.

If I understand correctly, it's not an Android problem... but a screen size issue..??

In fact, one goes with the other. Because I have the screen and it's the Android version that is not compatible. As for Alexa, I didn't know that. If that's the case, it changes everything. Thank you.

The Android version is not upgradeable... The alternatives are in the links I've provided.
